Problem solved have them put in a nuclear plant instead of a solar farm I'm sure the neighbors would prefer this!
Wrath, too.So is Sloth / Dejection
Like anything in life, anything to the extreme is probably not healthy for you.
I don't stripe my lawn, nor do I weedwhack every week like I should and my company truck and home office desk can look like a pig sty after a period of time because I'm the only one who uses themThat said, if I need to drive a larger company truck, I always clean it out when I'm done because someone else will be using it.
A small nuke plant is about a gigawatt in size, that would take about 6,000 acres of solar, depending on density, or about 12 square miles.
How many square miles get contaminated in a nuclear disaster? For the Chernobyl disaster the exclusion zone is 1,600 square miles.
That depends on the type of solar.Has anyone read about the solar farm in California that is sucking so much water out of the aquifers the people are having to drill deeper to get water. I never knew they used water till that article. One mobile home park is in danger of losing water completely.

That's great that people have owned land and houses for so long.
However, if it's theirs and they own it, they should have the right to do with it as they wish.
Looks like BLM needs to get its’ act together or people wont have water to drink or farms to irrigate.Maybe this story?

Solar Is Booming in the California Desert, if Water Issues Don’t Get in the Way - Inside Climate News
DESERT CENTER, Calif.—Solar farms stretch out mile after mile along Interstate 10 around Palm Springs, creating one of the densest areas of solar development in North America in the heart of California’s Colorado Desert. But the area’s success in meeting the state and the nation’s renewable...insideclimatenews.org

Georgia couple awarded $135.5M for damages from polluted land, water
A Georgia couple has been awarded $135.5M for damages from polluted land and water. The lawsuit says Silicon Ranch Corp. developed over 160 solar panel facilities across the U.S.www.foxnews.com
The main problem with solar and wind is that it is not reliable. Power companies must still have conventional coal or gas power plants up and idling in case the wind dies or clouds suddenly cover the sun.
To get back on topic, the families receiving the money for the solar farm are either moving away, or are making sure the panels are at least a quarter mile from their homes. Flat, suitable land around their homes will have no panels or battery storage units.
The families around the solar farm just want the Kentucky KRS 278.104 enforced and the panels at least 1000' from property lines. Not the 300' FROM RESIDENCES the company is proposing. Also the battery storage units must be 2000' from homes.
Great story.That’s true!
I remember back in the 80’s losing a wheel & tire (no spare) out in the middle of nowhere in PA and hoofing it to the nearest house (no cellphones back then). Walked up on a small ranch house with chickens and junk like the homes being trashed in this thread. The man living there looked to be in his final months of life, unable to get out of his chair. We knocked on the door and he welcomed me in to use the phone. We sat with him a while until help arrived. He was a farmer and a veteran. He had lots of pride for what he did, just no money.
Stayed with me forever. Woke me up to the millions of poor people living lives of suffering, pain and financial hardship all over this country. I believe they were also referred to as “bitter clingers” a decade or so ago.
I honestly don't know how your "story" will play out with this solar farm, but I do mean this in the sincerest form... I hope you win.True, as long as it doesn't damage their neighbors.

Exactly and while you can bring a natural gas generation plant online quickly (Peakers Unit) you cannot do that with a coal fired plant. Solar and wind will never be reliable. If the sun don't shine or the wind don't blow, they become ugly useless rocks destroying pristine views. People move to rural areas for the peace and tranquility, not to look at a solar or wind installation and people look at the revenue and not at the end game and there will always be that end game. The main problem with solar and wind is that it is not reliable. Power companies must still have conventional coal or gas power plants up and idling in case the wind dies or clouds suddenly cover the sun.
Dumb question, but shouldn't the homeowner know what they're signing also know what they are responsible for cost wise after signing a contract? One thig that seems to cloud the overall view of them and that is, the compensation is real but so is the remediation and every solar company our township investigated, the remediation was 100% the responsibility of the land owner and remediation isn't cheap either. They don't last forever (solar installations) and in the end, the landowner bears the responsibility 100%
