James Best was the guitar player in a couple early episodes.
So Andy and Barney were the early Boss Hogg and Roscoe Coltrane Although I don't think aunt Bea was Daisy.
Only cute girl I ever remember from Andy Griffith was Elanor Donahue, but she was no Daisy Duke.

I actually googled “Was Andy Griffith playing the guitar” and it came up he could play.

At an Amish store, of course. :p 🤓 :cool:o_O

It's the old shows which are in black and white.
About the old shows being in black and white, I have a confession to make.

I told the kids that the entire world was in black and white until Walt Disney invented
color in the 1930's. And the wonderful world of color was the first tv show in color because they couldn't make color movies or tv's till he invented it.
There were several other less than factual things I let the kids in on too.

I got some pushback from some others at home and I had some fun but I will say none of these kids as adults take anything at face value. Check and recheck sources.

But none of these kids drink the fox kool-aid.

But they trust little I say now. (one says I could be put in a home for all those things I came up with, and, any day now...)

I believe most of the series was filmed in Georgia or Louisiana. I know it was set in Georgia.

If you’re talking the dukes, the pilot shot in Georgia, the rest in California. In a couple scenes you can see a busy freeway off in the background.

It’s also my understanding that Andy Griffith was suppose to be the goof ball in the show instead of Don Knots. The Barney part just seemed natural for him to be the goof ball though. If you’ve seen the movie No Time For Sargents Andy played a silly hick character in that and was good at it.

The Dillard's were the musicians playing the Darlings.

You missed the episode with Barbara Eden?
I suppose I did! Or just didn't remember, if she was only on one episode. I meant more any regular cast.

Hmm... not according to the first few hits on Google! Maybe they moved it to CA later, but it seems at least the first several episodes were in Georgia, and then later Louisiana. Here's the first one that came up, when I searched using "where was dukes of hazard filmed".

The first five episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard were filmed in Covington and Conyers, Georgia and surrounding areas, including some location work in nearby Atlanta [1][2]. The famous shot of the airborne General Lee, the Duke cousins' muscle car, was filmed at nearby Oxford College [2]. Later episodes were filmed in Louisiana, USA, with some scenes also filmed in Atlanta Streets [3].

The dukes pilot was first 5 or 6 shows. Notice how the Covington GA courthouse is totally different than the one used later.
I have meet several of the cast, Boss Hog, cooter, Daisy, Ennis, coy, Vance, Sheriff Little, and Rosco. And Cletus, can’t forget him.

My son loves the show and has them about memorized.

Aneta Corsaut was cute...
Not unattractive, but I never quite understood why they replaced Elanor Donahue (Ellie) with her character (Helen Crump). Something about Ellie being too young for Andy, is what I had read, and Mrs. Crump being a more appropriate match. I always preferred Ellie.

I read Elanor had issues with anxiety and couldn't handle the Hollywood pressures. Supposedly that's why she never did much after either.

If you page down in this link, it indicates that she did a lot in film and TV. She even wrote a cookbook.

Wow, she really rode the fame train of that short stint as far as she could. The original Danny Bonaduce?

I was told that the producers of the show chose to replace her, not that she had any part in the decision.

It was in color, but I watched some of Get Smart last night.
