I ordered some gasket material last night. Then after sleeping on it. I ordered the shim at a great little Midwestern tractor supply that looks to specialize in discontinued parts. These chain cutters really want a 1:1.92 ratio to keep the speed high. It will still work somewhat ok, just not to its full potential.

I revised my reply - looks like it may well be 1:1 early model.

Just finished reading the entire thread, great reading and interesting ! My valve cover on my Masset 1040 started leaking a couple of years ago, ended up just buying some gasket material from OReillys Auto Parts. Of course I wasnt dealing with any gears meshing properly to obtain the right amount of backlash ! Im guessing your bearings are all ok ?

Well, my friend told me that it works good. You just have to wear hearing protection because the blade tip hits the dented side a bit We fixed that when we cut the blades and added a bit less length of chain... we will find the answer to your bearings question in our test runs.
Gasket material coming today from Amazon.., More importantly there was a shim which I mistook for the gasket, maybe it did double duty... anyway - that is coming soon also. So we wait.

Got the drive line seal today... hope to get the driveline out and the seal in sometime darn soon... this thing needs to hold oil! What a mess chasing these leaks.

it’s only been 62 days. After the Body shop and paint, under lighting, touch up paint, assembling a video production crew, a couple of young actresses (+ stunt doubles), and the red carpet premiere, TBN release date is probably looking at spring of 2024

Just received the new driveline seal yesterday. We plan to change this seal in the next couple of days. Oil is just pouring out of this seal right now.
