Yeah, both my brother and I were lucky our dad liked to ride and started us young. Brother was 5 and I was 6, We had a Yamaha 50 step through as a first shared bike.

Like his quote "You know for me motorcycles will always be my first Love" and Another, maybe his best quote :

Just putting along out there, having a blast..... I don't bounce/heal like I used to so my KLX300 will keep me entertained for a long time . The versatility of that basic, low cost 300cc machine continues to impress me, while reminding me of all the non-street skills I personally need to upgrade. I know some pro-riders... they walk on water, from my perspective....

As one MC journalist put it..... I don't really understand what the gyroscopic-lifestyle does to my brain, and I probably don't want to.... I just know it works.....

Most riders would agree with the old saying..... You never see a MC parked out front of a psychiatrist's office....... if you have a motorcycle that runs, you are looking at the best therapy most of us will ever get.

I'd say one of the best MC ambassadors today is Noraly (Itchy Boots). I've recommended her channel to people with no interest in MC riding, just for the Geography. A lot can be learned, watching her interact with the world while on 2 wheels.

There is nothing I do that I feel as comfortable as when I'm riding a motorbike.

Sure there is danger everywhere that takes constant attention, to me, that's the part that gives satisfaction, the constant attention.

"The gyroscopic lifestyle", I like that!

Motor bikes, snow skis, water skis, skate boards and airplanes. They turn when you tip them!
Or else you fall off.

We live in a highly Dis-Engaged and Dis-Connected World.....

.... as the polar opposite to that ^, I'm drawn to motorcycle riding as an antidote.

This is my motorcycle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

There is not a single material thing that has given me as much satisfaction as this one has given me. I can ride it like a 600cc Sport Bike, or cruise with the cruiser crowd. I can explore distant places and venture off when the black top ends. I can do LONG days on it, load it down for multiple day trips, and it does not complain. I point it in the direction I want to travel, and it just goes. I have put over 70k miles on it in just over three years with zero issues, other than changing the battery and routine maintenance.

There are probably 20 motorcycles I'd love to have, but not a single one would I trade this one for.

Her name is SAORSA. Freedom.

I see this year's model says 136 hp and 105 torque. That's really impressive for a twin.

Understand the feeling...felt the same way about my 1973 R75/5.

One of my buddies got a used KTM 690 Super Motard. Looks like fun.

My other buddy has 3 primary bikes. He has a 2nd gen Vmax, a custom turbocharged FJR1300 with 194 rear wheel hp, and a 2009 Ducati hypermotard 1100S. He says if he had to only keep one, he'd keep the hooligan hypermotard. I've seen him ride a wheelie for almost 10 miles from our town to the next small community, where we slowed down to turn. Nowadays, that's a huge fine.

Anyone watching the Supercross "playoffs"? Final round is next weekend in LA. Will determine season winner. I watch on Peacock TV.

Flat track wrapped up with Jared Mees winning the twins division. He's fast, and very seasoned.

Are they dealing at all on the new T7's last I checked the only way to get one for MSRP was to drive across the country. Congrats on one heck of an Adventure bike.

ps. For now going to ride the z 900RS on the street and once/ "If" I get the 465 jetting dialed will get a state sticker and may even ride it to town once in a while.
I forgot how Stubborn the 465/490 YZ's could be to get jetted "right".
Already experimented and ordered new needle /seat multiple main, pilot jets, new leaner throttle slide multiple jet needles New float and needle seat are installed along with a reduced main jet. It is running better on the bottom and very top... but the midrange is still really rich so the reason for leaner jet needles I even ordered a 'knock off" 38 flat slide PWK Keihn to try if all else fails. Starting to appreciate the fuel Injection of the newer bikes about now.

I didn't get a deal if that what you are asking .... But I fond one at the closes dealer to my place (3h) and it wasn't much more expensive then in the big center 10h away ... I did looked used and at wasn't worth it a few thousands off MSRP with 14000km (8700 miles) on them... many didn't have much accessories on them ether so... I was pretty tight on cash so I only got the engine guard on for now, I will add the skid plate and a exhaust later on.

yeah well you have influence my decision, I wanted a Africa twin then you talked about this one, I knew of it and knew it was cheaper then the Africa twin then I looked the reviews of both and it sound like this a better off-roading bike, lighter and better geared ... their is flaws about this bike like soft suspension and high center of gravity but they all have flaws and I can deal with this bike flaws.
