Purchased new tractor that is rented out?

Seems like something in this story is missing, but if it is as you stated

The second you paid in full for the tractor, it belongs to you.
Why would you let someone else use your tractor, and make money off it?
Either you are too soft, or something else is in play

It’s definitely a weird situation for sure. I was told that the tractors rental would be done shortly and would be delivered then. I live in Louisiana, but own my farms in Wisconsin. The dealer in question owns multiple locations. The tractor is currently being rented out by one location in Illinois, and I bought it at a Wisconsin location. I called the dealer today and they got kind of nasty with me telling me they weren’t going to be told what to do so I called an attorney.

Are you talking to the Owner at the dealer, or at least the General Manager? Still seems like a completely untenable, unreasonable position for them to take.

Do you know, for a fact, that this tractor even exists?

If he bought a tractor that was openly on rent to be delivered when it was returned with no end date agreed upon and stated in the paper work then he may be in for a surprise if the current lease runs longer than expected.

So I purchased a new Case 75c about 2.5 weeks ago. It was out on rental, but they won’t give me a time of when the rental is supposed to be done. I’ve bought and paid for the tractor. There is nothing stating it’s allowed to be out for rental still. Is this a normal practice? Should the tractor be delivered now or should they be allowed to continue using it as a rental to the city?

No it is not normal. Get your money back and for future do not ever pay for something they say is out on rental! Could come back damaged!

Here we go again, apparently a tractor purchased site unseen, as some learned what most already knew in another long running thread, is never a good idea, and for the life of me i couldn't imagine making a purchase of this size with no idea when my equipment was either
A. Ready for me to pick-up
B. Going to be delivered by the dealer
Irregardless, I hope the OP gets a satisfactory resolution.
