My 67 Ford 3000 has a block heater in it, but it is missing the cord. I don't know if I can find a cord that matches it, but if I want to check to see if the element is even any good, I just need to check resistance right?? Is there a value of Ohms I should be looking for?

I looked at several aftermarket block heaters for a Ford 3000 on google and they seem to range from 600 to 750 Watts. But most have an o-ring. Only one I found is threaded and that's what this one looks like? Does it just unthread?

Just wondering what my options are.....find a cord, replace whole thing or do something else?

Yes, you can check if it has resistance to see if still intact and possibly working.

Socket for the cord looks conventional to other heaters.

Here is a block heater replacement:

So that is the right one then. Thanks a lot TractorTech.

Not going to be running the old tractors during the winter, but I hate it when something is incomplete or not functioning.

So what should I see for resistance if I check the one that's in it?
