Well said. I think the only drawback is that with emissions, running at lower RPM just leads to more frequent regen.
As long as the engine has a decent load on it to keep the exhaust temps high, it shouldn't be an issue.

The reason for the high RPM requirement for the DPF is usually because the owners just can't put enough load on the engine to increase those exhaust temps.

I ran it at about 2000rpm. I'm not thinking I'll see a regen this year. At 85F and running a tiller, I think the DPF was plenty hot.

Although I don't have any DPF system, the guy who delivered my L2501HST told me to keep the RPM up because the hydrostat pump requires higher RPMs.

Between the HST transmissions and the DPF systems, I suspect operating at higher RPMs is now becoming a norm.

I've always idled my engine before shutdown for at least 30 seconds or longer after running it hard. Is that now a bad idea?

Nope still a good idea.
While the hydro's do like rpm they don't need wide open rpm unless the other parts of the job do.

I need restrictors for my snowblower chute controls, where is a good place to find them?
Hmm, I think I posted a link in this thread as to where I bought mine, but they were imported from Europe as my top link is from Italy and metric. There have to be a number of purveyors or flow limiters in the US... in fact I searched many of them, but they didnt carry BSP thread
