Since living here there is a whole list of things I never envisioned. That would include owning 4 tractors.
And your satellite phased array tracking station - Starlink. :)

I recall working with NASA on ground segments (land based tracking stations) earlier in my career, then came sat to sat communications, eliminating a large number of the ground based systems. Now I too can have one in my own back yard (or a small footprint on the roof). Ain't life grand?

Sure is
When we left Ga was still on dial up.
If fact, when i retired from Army, we were on Dial up and basically no internet web etc, as we know it. My iphone likely has more capability than our units housed in 40 ft trailers.

Frits, thank you, I had hoped to take my niece and her husband out to dinner at one of these places and at the last moment her family went to the mountains. So I'm here without a car and going nowhere.
my own cooking is fine thankfully

what is not fine is that I'm under attack.
bing wack wack bing

I'm parked under some kind of oak tree or something with nuts and they are raining down on the rv.

I'm checking in at the rv campground in N Ft Meyers and the yard boss with the golf cart brought me back, wanted to let me know Shorty next door had a loud voice, but was a nice guy. Shorty was a black man about five feet tall and seemed ok, and his 5'8 seriously obese white wife, and then the yard boss starts off by saying he is a Southern Conservative.

whatever that means.

I thought for a moment and you all would be proud of me.
I said I thought the best way to make friends was to talk about anything other than politics or religion. He smiled and said I was right.
I did not want to get into it with him.
and I went over later to sit with Shorty on his golf cart with him for a little while. Nice Harley nearby.
Shorty was fine and yes his voice was loud.
my curiosity to know what that guy meant was not strong enough
to delay hooking up my hot rv so the a/c would turn on.

when I looked up Southern conservative and saw the part about belief in a natural inherited hierarchy well glad I skipped that little chat.
I believe that approach is summed up by everyone in their place.
quite a few folks might take exception to that.

had a nice chicken and wild rice soup for dinner, spiced up with six drops of schiraca sauce. Scored some ice cream at the campground store, time for some Hersheys strawberry.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 10.9C and it's presently 16.3C, overcast and fairly calm. There was 0.3mm in the gauge @ 0900.

I accomplished a lot WRT wood-stacking yesterday however, despite stretching prior to, I annoyingly cramped up (left calf) when I toddled off to bed last night.

Today is 'into town' day for mail/groceries, preceded with a Veteran's coffee gathering @ 1000. Then it's back at the wood-stacking this arvo... I may be finishing!

That's about it, take care all.

Drew & Ron, Both my 2016 Pilot and 2019 Ridgeline may qualify for that recall. Notification starts in Jan I believe.
Wonder if my 2013 pilot
Paul, re no two Costcos laid out the same…we only have one on the island and it drives me crazy they rearrange the layout periodically. Not only they racked items, but here they just finished a major refrigerator change.
yep, same here. Always moving stuff around.

Went to the estate house to meet the inspector and my cousin. First thing I noticed was a note left by my brother telling me he turned off the breaker to the oven because it was making a noise. Second I noticed the thermostat for the AC/heater was blank. Grrr.

The inspector push a few buttons on the oven and it was fixed and I slid the battery holder for the thermostat in and out a few times and it started displaying. Catastrophes averted.

The inspector did a very thorough job, ran each appliance and even lit one water heater I had turned off. opened every cabinet door and turned on all lights and ceiling fans, checked each outlet, unscrewed the septic lid, went up on the roof, went in the attic, etc. . . .Took plenty of pics for things he found. My cousin got her moneys worth. This was not a pass or fail inspection it was just an investigative inspection which my cousin paid for so she could get an idea of everything that needs to be done. She got a big list and knows the estate house comes AS-IS. I just hope the report sent to the loaning bank does not delay/stop the sales progress. He did say the house was in good shape for it's age - 30 years old. Even though it was not necessary I did tell my cousin about the things I knew about so when she gets the report she would not think I was hiding things, I felt like I was walking a tight rope today.

So Tuesday morning started off slowly. I seem to be completely over the little bout of a food poisoning.

I had dropped and limbed/ cut up two tall skinny sweet gum trees other day but ground too wet to get the JD110 in there and bring them out.

So I went to the bank to visit and drink coffee.

After that I took some items to my brother and picked up my Farm Boss and TS240 cut off saw. Wanted to fire them up and clean them for a couple quick projects. Had to change the primer bulb on the cut off saw. That was like performing dental surgery. Glad my Stihl dealer had the part and I could get there before they closed.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are all blessed beyond measure. Prayers for our Country, ******, all Americans in the world and any one suffering.

Memory,oh my memory, where did you go.

No evidence that I ever had the Honda generator hooked up for autostart via the current system. I did get the settings programed into the controller and I can operate the generator manually. A bit of investigation and work to get to autostart.

No progress on the BX.

Really nice visit with our friend. Hadn’t seen her daughter since before the pandemic.

Hi, Good Morning !

We have - 10° C = 14 F this morning. We have special word for cold without snow. Directly translating it will be "bare-frost". As it is rather devastating phenomena I guess it should be something in English too, but I never herd such thing. Please enlighten me

Sky clear, but snowstorm in forecast.
Should fill up snowblower. Yanmar still at "rancho" 😬

I am just wondering - why are you installing so complex back-up system ? Is power surge so common thing for you ?

Once projecting new office we got statistics from grid operator. For period of last 7 years grid was down UNEXPECTED once. For 3 hours. And average 2 X year they are down for maintenance. 1 - 2 hours. Always send sms & email 2 weeks prior
So we dropped idea to have sophisticated back-up. Just regulated by code - lightning, earthing. + standard office back-up for PC

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today have meeting with electrician, to make plans how to finalize
Fingers crossed
