So, I need to hear some tips tricks to puling t post out of the ground. These have been set for years, they are the heavy gauge with (nubs on one side). I "don't" own the high dollar T Post puller, and use the wife and a bucket curl to extract the pesky suckers. I just know that there is someone who has a fantastic and easier way to do this.... So who has that trick ?

I used to use a fabricated device. Mostly it's a chain wrapped around the post, and a stand the right height to pry the chain and the post out. It always worked.

A couple of years ago, I decided to buy an actual "T post puller". It's faster, and easy to use.

Search Amazon, or E-bay for examples. $50-$90

Do a search here, there was a lot of previous posts on this subject. Me, I use chain and wife on tractor also. Fast and easy.

what I did do though is I made a small loop with some insulated steel cable. I slip that over post and then use hook on chain to grab loop. As wife raises bucket, loop catches nub and pulls out post.

Tractor with boom pole or bucket and a few half hitches and it will grab and pull it out

Chain and either the tractor bucket or the hi-lift jack off the jeep

I also just use chain and the fel. 3 or so wraps around, then hang the hook on the working end of the chain and it binds up nicely.

chain wrapped works really well...when you have the other end attached to a shackle on a FEL.

This. Works well and is fast.

I made one. Works good.

Two flat metal plates or angle . I used 1 1/2 angle I had. Three 3/8 cross bolts for about 1 1/2 inch between plates. and about 2 inches between bolts

Drop either end over the post and pull up or jack up on the 3rd bolt.

I have a Speeco t-post puller plate that works good with the loader and chain. Mostly I use it with the high-lift jack though.

I also use the Speeco puller except I got mine at TSC for $13.99. Coupled it to a short piece of chain to my SSQA receiver hitch plate. I just have to get off the tractor to hook it up to each post if I am by myself. With 2 people pulling posts goes fast.

You can use a piece of wood or steel about 3-4 feet long. Push the t-post away from the nubs, wedge the board in there and pull back. Repeat until the post is loose. Still not nearly as easy as a puller though. Not sure what "high dollar" means to you, but T post puller's that work great are less than $100. It's worth it if you're gonna pull more than a few.

Interesting, that you questioned "High dollar", it was to reach out to some ingenious fellow who has used some sort of household item that they used to pull them (without cost).... I am not sure if you saw the show MacGyver but that guy used duck-tape and a piece of string to make a bomb. I know there is more than one way to string a cat, but cannot for the life of me think of any other ingenious idea that would keep me from doing it in the same fashions outlined in the post(s) above.

I paid $50 for a T post puller from Tractor supply to take out a bunch of T posts. I tried using my loader to pull them with a chain, but they always bend, and it takes too long getting on and off f the tractor when doing it by yourself. If you have a helper, and you don't want to use the T posts again, then the tractor would be faster.

I just did them a few at a time after work. It makes a huge difference if the ground has some moisture in it. Dry ground and they don't come out at all. Couple of rains later, and they come out easy!!!!!

I usually just wiggle the posts back and forth then pull. However, I've used those post pullers and they're pretty sweet. So, if you have 10 posts, just wiggle them or get them out however it works. If you have 1000, then get the post puller.

That's the one I got too, from TSC.

My experience is that when the ground is soft, it's a lot faster to walk from T post to T post, and pull them out with the T Post Puller, then it is to drive the tractor to the post, get off the tractor and attach the chain, then pull the post, untie the chain, and then get back on the tractor and drive to the next T post.

So far, I haven't bent a single T post using the manual puller. I think I've bent every one that I pulled with my loader.

If the ground is really soft, I use a wooden plank underneath the puller's foot, so that it doesn't sink into the ground.
