put some ice melt down on sidewalk and gave birds some more feed, including under the picnic table where the snow is not piling up, and those ground feeders seem to like it. Big cardinal out this morning but mostly smaller birds.
And then the new seed attracted these bruisers who scared off all the other birds

48 to 68º today. Rain starts tonight. We need it. I'm mostly ready.
Put another bucket of rocks collected from the field in the creek crossing I'm building. Rearranged the pointy ones and rolled the tractor over it a couple of times... its a good start. More rock collecting today before the rains.
TGIF. Stay safe and have a great day

Good Morning
25° and snowing here. High won’t see 30, snow is supposed to continue all day. Driveway markers will likely be handy later when I get the tractor out.

Yesterday worked out ok, however when I got to the airport, they hadn’t pulled the plane out or fueled it yet, in spite of me requesting it to be out an hour earlier. It’s frustrating, because it’s not an unusual experience either. Fortunately there were no paying clients involved, just the 4 of us.
As I was approaching Newburg, I got their latest weather- 1 mile visibility in snow. (It was clear when we left Philly). At any rate, we got in and out uneventfully, except for being routed over Wilkes Barre going from Newburg to Philly. We all went to Mission BBQ for a late lunch when we got back.

I think I’ll go to Costco this morning in the snow, hopefully it will keep the masses away. Not much else planned, we are supposed to play music this evening, the snow might put a damper on that, we’ll see. I’m sure youngsters like Ken’s son wouldn’t let a bit of snow deter them!

Morning all, 26 going to 16 tonight and snow.
4-6 inches now looks like 2", schools closed as of last night.
I remember when it took 2+ feet of snow to close school.

Son helped me get the horizontal front panel up last night, so now I can concentrate on the walls with pipes and other dohickeys.

Son was supposed to play a gig today, moved to tomorrow. Picked him up at 7:30 last night from band practice, not too many people on the road due to the scary storm that wasn't to start until this morning.

Might take the tractor out and plow if we get enough snow,

Hops Helo comes back,

Be well,

Pre-panel, almost all prep done, now a panel in place.
Noticed air leaks around garage door sides, will need to fix that.

I am just not all that sure I want to retire. I like the extra 40+ grand a season I make when working. Last year was 47.4 Grand. That amounts to 47 thousand reasons why I should keep working. All of them dollars.
Once you have enough cash flow to cover your needs, you only need one reason to retire. That is you'll enjoy your time spent away from a job more than you will spending it working. A spread sheet to track your living expenses is a big help in covering the first thing. Trust your heart on the second one.

Good morning! Another cold front has blasted through but not as sever as the last one. 34˚F, clear skies, windy from the North, only getting to the 40s. Tomorrow it will be in the low 20s.

Helo has been posting on the EV thread, as an experienced Tesla owner in frigid weather, as opposed to the un-experienced Chicago Tesla owners.
I'm sure If we were in the proximity of a hostile nation, and war was threatening, that would creep into our morning conversations.

Good Morning - currently 43° here.. Temp will drop this weekend - Sat. 17° to 33° & Sun. 17° to 38°..
Been a pretty busy week here..Talk of retirement sounds good but being only 66 means I will work a couple more years.. Plus, I would really miss working the livestock shows...Have a great day and a nice weekend and stay warm..

Snowing again.

I've just been categorized as "a distraction." As I was walking into the other room where my wife was, I was loudly announcing the snow was back. I heard her say to someone on the phone..."can you please repeat that, there was a distraction in the room." 😁 I didn't know she was on the phone, of course.

Hey, you music and instrument lovers...don't miss a chance on this...Lot #37 caught my eye.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 6:30AM. Cloudy early, then off and on rain showers for the afternoon. High 63F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

While packing up the desk, David, I came across at least five boxes containing successive versions of MacOS releases, and an entire drawer full of empty CD/DVD crystals. All of it and more went into the trash. I didn't sort through all the CDs of application software distributions, but I will when I pull it out of the box before it goes back into the desk.

Is/was the Pileated Woodpecker on the endangered species list, Ron? I remember my mom getting very excited when she spotted one when I was a kid, as up until then she'd only heard of, but never seen one.
Having been involved with passing of 3 close family members. It sure makes it easier for have the information in one place. Book is kept in a safe in house. Still have not figured out how to have safe combination available.
I'm in the same boat, Ron. All I've come up so far was a paper list of account numbers and login info in a safe, and just the combo to the safe in a plain white sealed envelope entrusted to the executor of the estate. But the thought of that envelope falling into the wrong hands keeps me from doing it.

Gosh, Billy, you could buy a brand new F350 or Tesla for the price of one of those Gibsons!

Met two more of the neighbors yesterday, and learned from a third that what I'm calling the bonus room, that is now divided into a 10'x10' office and a 10'x20' storage room, was once one continuous room, and part of the garage. And there was a garage door on the back side that opened onto the back porch. That would have been much preferred to the current arrangement, and now I'm wondering how much trouble it would be to put it back to the way it was.

Got the van and trailer unloaded yesterday, and now have a ton (maybe literally) of boxes stacked in various places waiting to be unpacked. Also got all the pieces to the desk put back together, and they barely fit in the much smaller room here. In the worst case, a wide file cabinet has to be angled away from the wall so the drawers will miss the desk when they are opened. And I'll need to cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to cover that cabinet so I can stack two other 2 drawer file cabinets on top. Small price to pay to have the office right next to the garage, as it'll save a LOT of running back and forth.

I don't feel like I pulled any muscles yesterday, but my whole body is sore today. No rest for the weary, though.

Good morning! Low of 19°, heading to a high of 46°. Sunny and light breezes at 5 mph. Gonna be a nice day!

Scott, close enough to start the vacation countdown..... Ahhhhh, relaxing on the beach....
Got a spare large suitcase for me to hide in?

Check, Jasper is your Airedale pup right? If so, I thought he really enjoyed the snow? Where's he at?

Wng, nice pics from the trail. Does anyone take advantage of the whitewater in that area?

RNG, sounds like you had a successful day!
My guess is that the room would go back to original very easily. More than likely they just "filled in" the openings, not changing anything structural.

The shoulder / neck isn't too bad this morning. Much better than last night... So far, not really any pain unless I turn / move to "full" range. Just going to be careful as to not aggravate again.

The wifey makes "rice bags" to be used as heat packs. You microwave them for 2 minutes, nice warm heat that lasts about 15 minutes. They contour to the body and provides good relief.
2 of 'em got a good workout last evening.

Everyone have a great day!

Coffee cup is full of hot coffee. 15° with snow shower this morning. Heading to 19° with light snow. Did get cans of diesel moved to pole barn. While I had tractor out did some snow pile clean up. Will do a little more cleanup today.
Suet cakes do not last long when this wood pecker is around.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.
Wow, Ron, he's a horse!

Ted, glad you are feeling better.
Buppies, hope you are too

got so bored I decided a nice drive in the snow would do, up to the DMV
in Dublin, about half an hour from here to get my renewal photo license. Last week I tried and they
were mobbed so I just left.
Figured like Popgadget today might be a light day.
checked in, assigned a number, and then a ding saying my number was ready.
not bad.
In and out in 8 minutes.

about two inches of soft fluffy snow now, I think we will get at least four looking at the current radar.
More to come...
I shoveled a path for the Amazon guy, my cd player is coming today, I hope (correction, they just emailed tomorrow)

66°F and 0 rain

Semi productive day yesterday. Highlight being the guy’s bear the gals at H&F. A back and forth game.

Initially was going into town today for Fridays Follies but enough in freezer we really don’t need to.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

and as we get closer to 80 we need to start cleaning out the proverbial barn
We have been trying to get that barn cleaned for several years already. It's not an easy task so anyone is wise to start early.

My oldest son recently told me that it's already weighing heavily on him about how to dispose of the things his Mom has accumulated. He had just finished helping her clean out the upper floor of one building.

Top task on my list today is getting an issue resolved with a utility construction company that got way outside the ROW on a place I own and broke the sewer connection off under ground, parked equipment all over the lot, rutted up the ground, broke a cement apron driving a mini-ex over it and several other things. After going all the way up to the owner of the company I am getting resolution. It's a small thing in the overall scheme of everything going on but I've kinda had it with these utility construction crews and the way they will abuse a property if they think no one is watching. [Rant off]

Hope everyone has a great and productive day and stays warm, dry and well fed!
