Good morning!!!!

Morning all;
Just finishing our breakfast here, fried up a pound of hot breakfast sausage into patties and made a egg, sausage, cheese on a English muffin sandwich for me and the same minus the sausage for my wife.
Using our new range, propane as compared to having used electric for going on 40 years, have always liked gas but just never bothered getting one and having a house plumbed for gas. Broke down and hired a plumber to run a gas line into the house and had him prep for more gas appliances in the future just in case. Ran a 1" hard pipe into the house with a 4 valve manifold with plugs in 3 valves and one coming up into the kitchen. Also left a T and valve outside for a line to a grill or whatever in the future.

Part of the driving force for this was also the governor of this nanny state wanting to do away with gas and oil heating and appliances.
Finished two cups of coffee and starting a third, later do a bit of picking up outside if the rain lets up. It has warmed up here the last couple of days and rained, over 3/4" last night and most of the snow has washed away, did have a bit of icing as it transitioned and a chance coming up as it turns cooler again after Saturday.
Need to go down to my Branson dealer today and pickup a cushion bolt for my door hinge to glass door, saw one missing the other day. Then likely stop at the Town Clerks office and pay the property taxes for this year.

Stay safe and healthy

Drew, mentioning Buzz Saw brings back old memories. Here is old Polaroid picture of doing firewood in my yard. My ears still buzz from sound of the blade spinning.

Nice picture,
is that a Farmall 340?
She is setup pretty narrow? set for a 2 or 3 bottom plow?
We ran our buzz saw as a front mount on a Allis Chalmers WD using a flat belt.
Split with an axe or maul.

Good morning! Low of 30°, heading up to 44°. Chances of intermittent sprinkles is about all this "strong" storm will give us..... 3 storms this week, all a bust! I guess I need to pull out the garden hose and dispense some drinks this weekend....

Scott, thanks for the beautiful pics! The sunset was awesome.

RS, happy belated birthday.

Ron, thanks for the daily morning pic. Beautiful as always! What is the larger bird?

Drew, I bet those eyes were really wide open when they saw that amount! Glad it was just a clerical error. --- whew!

Wng and Rip, Those are spring temps! Enjoy them while you can!

Check, Jasper looks like he's making sure no one grabs his spot when the family arrives!

Ken, sorry you're still not feeling well. Hope you can get to that 'good' spot.

Buppies, rest, rest, and more rest. Hope the pain goes away and you can get some quality sleep.

Going to take the wifey into town, Max too, for some errands. She needs to restock some of her craft supplies. Max has been pestering for another ride in the truck.... apparently going to the groomer was just an "appetizer" for rides......

Everyone have a great day!

Condolences to two bit for his aunt. Comforting to know about her faith.

Condolences to rs wife's brother.

Happy belated birthdays to scootr and rs.

Ron, some really beautiful pics. I sure do appreciate them. That pileated was looking for bugs in that dead tree probably.

Scotty, you shouldn't give up your location too well....us vagabonds may show up on your porch! nice pics, enjoy!

Pop, you got a really "cool" dog there. Your "bizzyness" gives me motivation. I need to get off my duff right now.

My son has been sick for the last 4 days. Low grade fever, congestion, sinus, coughing. Couch potato. His basketball team lost by 8 points last night. I told him he could have possibly been the difference maker had he been well enough to play.

50F and foggy damp cool. Cooler here than many of my Pennsylvania friends are enduring right now.

Ken, hope you get feeling better soon.

Mostly, glad you're feeling well enough for getting back into your routines.

Try mixing red pepper flakes in with their feed.
Have never tried that, might try it. But wifey and I were joking about them being too old to cook.

Which made me remember another slogan that emanates from chickens...."Tough old bird"....

Talked with my 100 yr old Mum today. She sounds pretty good. Dad doing well also. Life is good. No seat time today. But I got the Porsche out for a bit today. Washed and gassed it up for a warmer day soon. Put new registration tags on the Cobra...looking into putting an electric power steering unit on it... such a PIA in parking lot use. Should be a fun upgrade.
Good about your parents. Power steering might help keep you from needing shoulder surgery!

I hope y'all and the washer last for many more trips around the sun.

Pop, Scott, and Ron ... great pix thanks for sharing!

Back in formerly-great California, its 41F headed to 56F and a clear day today.

Visited the County Building Dept yesterday. Am considering building a 2nd residence "ADU" (accessory dwelling unit) somewhere on our land. New CA laws reduced the power of local Counties to make exorbitant demands for fees and improvements that made it impossible to build.

Good news is: things have simplified. Bad news is the County can still demand things to make it difficult. Just modifying my driveway to comply with current fire regs would require surfacing the first 30 feet at the street, replacing my entry gate with one 2 feet wider, and felling 100 +/- trees including stump removal. Even they agreed that is egregious. They (mostly) waived that requirement. Even doing that is something they would have never done before. But there is more.

Expensive to build here-- after visiting I'm now guessing probably $600k to build a 1,200 sq ft. house-- on land I already own. Then property tax increases $6k/year, insurance increases $4k/year. Seems like a lot for only 1,200 ft. But ... decisions, decisions.

Had 4 large bucks at the edge of our pond late yesterday. Here is a pix a trail cam caught of one of them a while ago ...

Great photo! Have you considered parking a really nice RV there? Something you could also use to tour around?
If you hurry to Texas, I don't believe most places have fees like that....at least out in the country.

we had an issue at my local school where an 8th grader was showing his friends a pic on his camera that someone else had sent him with this same kind of **** stuff on it. Became quite a teaching opportunity for the school, reinforcing personal privacy and what is right and wrong. I think that child was suspended for a few days, not sure, kept quiet in a private school.

parents supervising their kids phone use is a real challenge I'm sure.
Maybe it was Florida (IIRC) that was considering a ban on many social platforms for kids up to 16 years old??? I'm sure the school's staff could tell you which ones were the worst. When my oldest daughter turned 16, one night, she just deleted ALL her social media apps on her own. She realized she was wasting her life on petty peer crap.

My problem child appliances are all working again!
Mini fridge needed a $10 starter relay.
Dryer needed a new belt and drive pulley $20.
Oven needed 2 new relays from Digikey $18 total. I admit, I said a lot of prayers before I turned it back on...and he heard them. New wall units are $1400 + tax or higher.

So, for $50 bucks, I have them all working again. Pretty glad all over about that.

Trying to find motivation to go do something in the damp cold barn.

Prayers for our team, our nation, Ukraine and Israel.

Yes it is a 340. Had a 2 bottom plow for it. I owned it for 26 years.

Good Morning!!!! Sun and clouds mixed. High 72F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

For some reason, the POs of this place took the doors, coat rods, and shelves out of all the bedroom closets. Yesterday I put the shelf and coat rod back into one of them, then went to HD for another rod and shelf. About $60 worth. I held off on the doors, as they're about $100 each! Now if I can just find some used ones from some other crazy home remodeler...

Also got the van loaded with the empty boxes, and a bunch of 2x4s. Some of the shop tools are too tall to fit under the door of the trailer, and I have an idea for a cradle that will let me tip them over far enough to get under the door, but not so far that they're too hard to upright without the tractor and forks. Hold my beer...

TGIF gang!

Have you considered parking a really nice RV there?
Our ranch farmhouse was built in 1886, way past its prime, drafty, etc. To say the least. So, although an ADU is usually added to house "another" family, it is my wife and I who would use and enjoy it. And maybe a guest or two.

We learned yesterday you are also allowed to have an RV pad/hookup so we will do that too.

Nice, they were a good compact tractor. The little 4 cylinder had a nice exhaust note under load.
Also I always liked and still do like the 2 point fast hitch, always found it quite convenient.
