I think bans should be more public.
Then there's a meta-argument about the ban. That can be even more annoying and distuptive than the posts that caused the ban.

One large forum I was a member of had a dedicated topic that reported mod actions. You wern't allowed to whinge about mod actions in the rest of the topics and the mod action topic was read-only except for mods. But if you cared, you could see what the mods were doing.

It's a hard job.

No worries, he will be back under different face/nickname

I've ignored a few threads when they irritated me because of the arguing and name calling but didn't know there was a button for that. How does it work?

I have no idea who you all are talking about but after moderating a handful of forums myself, a troll like you describe were usually easy to decide to ban. Mods dont get paid and its all voluntary so having to babysit an individual and clean up threads all the time gets tedious. Its then that I would show them the door.

I’m pretty sure a lot of this is hypothetical, and also a little bit tongue in cheek….

Plus..
I own a Polaris Ranger, NOT Deere!

Ifn I get ignored, It really don’t matter to me, I’ve been ignored by two ex-wives, most of my life!

I’m really good at it!
Ya know, this got me thinking.

Ya see these people married 4-5-6 times! Wtf are they thinking? twice was plenty for me!

I guess I don't get it.... did it once, that's it. Wife wanted to renew vows, not a chance, if you don't believe after 35 years there is no new hope.
Have not found her all that trainable and NO way I'm gonna try another. Cheaper to hire it out.
However I'm in for the long haul.

Interesting. I nearly put one member here on ignore a few years ago but never did. The guy is still around but posts a lot less, so it worked out. I am interested in how some people think...or don't think.

This is the only forum where I thought about banning someone. 6-wheels is not the guy BTW.

I don't get worked up over things as much. Nearly losing someone to cancer and seeing your kids go woke makes what forum fools say so unimportant to my life.

Lots of good folks here and good info. That keeps me engaged.

On my first. Her 2nd, but the 1st was at age 19 for less than a year. My family doesn't know and we've been married 33 years. I could never understand polygamy. I can barely deal with 1 at a time.

Ive had been quietly following this thread but now you’ve triggered a morbid curiosity of mine.
Since we couldn’t literally execute them, or is shouldn’t the correct term.
Then I assume we use their avatar as a proxy for the virtual execution.
Maybe a hanging, firing squad or electric chair. Just think of the special effects that could be added.
Would a few last words be allowed?
Maybe taps could be played softly following the execution.
All right my wife says its time for me to go back on my meds so I’ll quit for now.
Maybe instead of execution, we go with 17th century shaming. Along with the most posts and most 'liked' posts, publish the most ignored.

Some people have no shame, so it wouldn't change them. Some of us tend to be socially obtuse. My wife has to let me know sometimes when we are around other people.

Or how about a dislike button…

So we would stamp a B on their forehead?
