The rarely maintained gravel roads here in the Ozarks take their toll. 10 ply tires help a lot but even they are not immune. Sharp rocks, potholes and debris all work against your tires. Favorite so far was a rail road spike through the tread and out of the sidewall, second place goes to the spark plug my daughter found.I can't remember when the last time was that I changed a tire on the side of the road and I drive a lot worse roads at a lot higher speeds than most do. I did change a slow leak in my door yard two summers ago. About the time I have a flat it's usually because I need new tires.
Edit; I changed one last summer after picking up something in the road.
Have a few customers every year with on-road tires (4 ply) and flats after going to one of the creeks.
