Bale Fork for Moving Pallet?

I have a 2-prong bale fork and was wondering if I can use it (in a pinch) to move pallets. Buying a separate pallet fork for said purpose doesn't make sense, given the infrequent need, but my hay fork is used quite often. Thank you.

I do it all the time, also use them as log carriers. Or last week as concrete railroad tie movers.

My bale spears are rated for 4000 pounds each at the midpoint and I use 2. My loader will only lift ~1700 pounds so I feel well within the safety margin.

I don’t imagine what your spear attaches to is rated for 8k. But if all you own is a WM 120 I would say it lifts more…

I miss type Standard bale spears are rated for 3K - 3.5k at mid point for each spear. I just have little LS XG3135 it won't exceed that in it's lift rating. But I can stack logs on them. Also just carried a 20' long 24" Stand pipe that worked the tractor a bit and was a touch wobbly. My spear frame is rated for 4k

I figure the spears have to handle big square bale pushing 2k dry more if rained on.

I had a 3 prong spear at my last house. It had one main spear and two smaller spears to act as keepers (for lack of better term) to keep the bale from spinning on the main.

I could move large round bales no problem, but obviously it wouldn't move pallets. Curiously, I ended up (and still do) using the pallet forks more often than just about anything (except winter time snow removal).

No livestock or hay bales at current house, but I sure do use those pallet forks often.

I'd imagine bale spears would hold up well. That's what I used to build my brush forks and they're quite robust
