Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Arrow, DarbyCrash... VERY good input. This is what this forum is all about, sharing ideas and things to keep our "Mighty Mo's" running tip top.

The only thing I need now, is a replacement set of steps... I bent mine beyond repair early on, working in tight timber. OOps!

I have been pleasantly surprised by the price of replacement parts. not cheap but not stupid either. good job Mahindra, even my dealer is not soaking me for replacement parts, other than repair of hydraulic hoses on that they were stupid, and prompted me to go to NAPA for a new hose for 1/2 the price for them to repair one to fix their mistake.

Awesome information!!!

I am probably going to do it myself, since I really don't trust the dealership. If I take pictures and document everything, save receipts for the fluids and filters, I should be ok with warranty issues, hopefully.

I will also check torque specs on bolts and grease everything!
It is unfortunate you feel a distrust of your dealership.
I know at mine, we go over customers tractors very carefully and in several cases, better than the customer would. We check quite a few things let alone trucking an 8000 lb item that many are not used to trailering nor know transport regulations for or how to manage the nitwits on the road.
It is simply a lot of money l know but the next service for most is like 5 yrs down the road as many ppl won’t put 50 hrs a year on their machines.
Personally, l’d rather have a service than a new phone (did l say that out loud?)
To me, the biggest advantage of doing it yourself beyond the money saved is you always have your tractor.

I hear you Brother, and I appreciate your input.

I have a 2020 Ram 3500 DRW, Max Tow package, a Class A CDL and a 45' Big Tex 22GN goose neck, no issues towing my tractor.

Here is the deal on my "dealership"... it is a "Powersports" dealership close to me. They sell Suzuki / Yamaha Motorcycles, Can Am / Yamaha side by sides, Gravely and Ariens mowers, and Mahindra tractors.

They are a NEW Mahindra carrier, and the buying process did not give me much confidence.

I may look for a SOLID Mahindra dealer that I can take my tractor to, for you make some very valid points. I just want to make sure what's needed is done because I plan on keeping this thing for a long time.

Hope that lends some visibility on my trepidations.

I understand your take with utmost clarity. Your trailering skills give you a one up on most people.
There is a huge difference in dealerships from one that’s just been born as opposed to one that’s been here since 1976.
There are many fine dealerships that go by the very simple but deep meaning tenet of treat people as you would want to be
treated.

I hear you... and if you were closer to me, I'd bring it to you! Even searching South Carolina on the Google Box, I'm not finding any dealerships that are strictly "tractor" centric. I'm going to make a trip by the place I bought mine, and speak to the Service Manager there and ask them what they intend to do for the "50 hour service" and see his / her response.

I'm very confident I could do it all, but having it documented in records, with it being this new, means a lot to me.

Thank you for your candor, and your input into this topic. Much appreciated!

i agree with almost all of what you are saying especially the bolded part, but I'm having trust issues with my service department, i understand that there has been a employ shake up at my dealer and maybe my mind will change.
but after getting my tractor back from them and finding puddles under the front axel, then crawling under to find ALL of the bolts holding the portals onto the axel to be finger tight, i'm a lot more careful on who works on my tractor.
after talking to the owner i got a response that the service manager did not make that mistake it was a technician issue, i can see that the owner and i do not see eye to eye about what i expect from their service. i still like them and still get my parts from them but just do not trust them to do work on my tractor so i will do my own services if i can. the owner was trying hard to get me to let them do the 50hr but it came up right after my above experience was fresh and there was no way at that time.
