BEF, I guess in your part of the country it is not illegal to back onto a thoroughfare/road?

Never heard of that being illegal anywhere. Lots of people have drives where that is the only way they can, even on the main road I live on. I don't like to, so I put in a turn around area, which eventually became a drive to my barn.

I read the material on hearing aids this ENT sent me home with, that I'm seeing next week.
cheapo one starts at 1200 and goes up to better and best quickly, 3200 for top model.

I joined Costco just for that.
they turned me down after test, said my hearing too bad in one ear
Costco is designed for the bell curve middle, not folks who really need to be fine tuned.
I'm not sure they can offer me what I want either. I hope so. But this is still treating the symptoms.
my feeling of pressure and fullness and ear being underwater, for four years now. But 4 ENTs haven't figured that out either.
I've had steroids injected, the tubes in my ear and what turned out to be bad news heart medicine given to
reduce ear inflammation. Nothing has worked. And the last guy wanted to go back and try the heart medicine again.

tomorrow I need to replace the overdue house water filters.
I can tell the green ring in the bathroom sink is showing up.
I may make it a condition, gently..., of long term rental here that landlord
fixes the water situation, and puts in a proper filtration system.
what this means is I have to get Culligan out here and ask them to test water and
spec a system. Then landlord can go to their own plumber for another quote.
Something along the lines of a water softener but using mostly calcite.
if I pour a glass of cold water in the kitchen sink, I have to spit it out now. Sour.
can't be helping my coffee for sure.

and I managed to not drive over Buckeye's flowers either...

And my wife thanks you. We once had a kid drive into the flower bed on the lower side of the picture, almost hitting the big rock in the middle of it. That rock was dug from where the house sits, so I had the excavator put it there.
People back out of the neighbors drive into ours all the time, one took out a fence post once. Have a whiskey barrel planter out there also, it's been hit. People just can't back up.

this guy couldn't back up this long trailer at the farm, a half hour later a tractor came and they pulled the back around using a chain. Unbelievable. He had plenty of room to pull up and get the trailer tires over to the side.

Out of habit, I avoid backing into potential traffic even in parking lots. I do know how to back up though!
When I was teaching my daughter to drive I made her back up and down our long winding driveway and become proficient before heading out on the road (it took her a while).

In New York it is illegal to back out onto a State road. It is legal and proper to stop on the road and back into a driveway.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.5C and it's presently 10.0C, overcast with a light breeze.

Just 'tootlin'' along today. Tomorrow I'll need to get my arse out of bed early as my telephone conference with my Urologist has been shifted to 0815... of course, that's "stand by" for the call. It's a good thing that the days of only land-line are in the past.
