Kubota transmission failure

I wanna introduce myself, I have a small acreage on Vancouver Island.

My 1970ish Kubota L225 has finally quit on me. To be precise the transmission has quit. I have owned for about 15 yrs and have only ever had two forward gears,(4 if you use hi/lo) and reverse. Now it’s finally quit.
Does anyone know if there are other Kubota tractors that use this trans, or other trans that would bolt up directly?

Welcome to TBN. If you can't find your information on this website you might pose it on a Kubota specific site such as Orange Tractor Talks. There's a guy in there from Northern Idaho who REALLY knows his Kubotas. He's Wolfman or something like that.

Ever bother to change the fluid in it's 15 year run?

Geared transmissions tend to be forgiving. Considering it was missing 2 gears when he bought it, I'd say he did good to have it go 15 years.

Most of them ALSO share the gearbox fluid with the hydraulics, common fluid. Needs changed and filters on a regular basis, reason I asked.
