I bought a set of Caldwell Deadshot shooting bags. They were on sale for $ 29 at Runnings. I was never very happy with my old metal and rubber adjustable bench rest, plus I seem to have misplaced it. I also picked up some bass lures from the clearance rack (opening day is this Saturday here in NY state).

I was back at my range last weekend, trying to use shooting sticks leaning against the 50 yard bench and I didn’t care for that at all. I have a big mound of dirt and “unsplittable” stumps for a backstop back there, and benches set up at 50 and 100 yards. The range is way out back at our place. My Durango field car is great for running back there.

2021 Honda Passport Touring w 19k mi. My 2011 RDX was getting long in the teeth and it was time for upgrade.
Vehicles are staggeringly expensive now; I paid twice as much for the Honda as I did for an old 911 in 2012, and nearly 3x what I paid for the RDX in 2019.

Congratulations on the Yanmar purchase. Welcome to the club!

Bid on, but didn't win, 2 60" bushhogs, a 72" bushhog (think it sold for like $160), a JD single row cultivator (went for $60) and a 2 bottom plow (went for $50) at a online live/in person auction not too far away. As always, some stuff went cheap, but I didn't want or need (3 hay rakes and a sickle bar mower, for $40 each), or a burnt, non running, older Kubota tracked skid steer that went for like $9500. I really think the in person folks have a real advantage on this style auction. Folks bid up several CF Moto non-running side by sides into the neighborhood of $2500-3000; which seemed really high for that. Did see a Massey Ferguson MF50B back hoe sold for $1300, in non running, but apparently intact condition.

I bought a 1952 Allis Chalmers CA to keep my 55 CA company.
Jut put the hood back on mine yesterday, so hoping to get them all out for some pics if it doesn't rain today.
The 55 got a new water pump, electronic ignition, new gauges, valve set and timed. Really runs nice now.

15# of hamburger, a few chuck roasts, 5 pounds of stew meat, a sirloin steak, a rump roast and a few other cuts of meat.

Friends had their animals butchered. Always tasty.
hopefully meat on our list for next weeks trip :)

This week my HP Laptop finally broke the last straw for me. Although I got almost 10 years out of it,
it has been very problematic. Replaced: 3 batteries. 1 charge port connector, 3 power supplies, 1 hard drive, 1 wifi adaptor, and this week the replacement screen failed Again. All ten years with intermittent blue screen restarts. oops forgot the failed optical drive replacement and hinge failure.

No more HP for us.

New Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i 16. metal case, Lighted keyboard Yay""-, touch screen HD OLED, 32gig RAM, 1TB SSD expandable, Intel core ultra 9 2-5 Ghz, etc.

Wow, have these laptops improved over the years. Pay a bit more get a bit more.

A bushel of buckwheat ($ 35), and $ 60 worth of stuff at a garage sale (jig saw, corner sander, axe, 4 ft level, (3) pair of shoes, (3) pair of sox, leather belt, fancy wool Orvis fishing hat, camo hunting hat).
Jury still out on the buckwheat. I haven’t noticed it sprouting yet but I planted a little over at my parents place and the rest here at home, in spots where I’m going to put in wheat/clover deer food plots this fall. I’m hoping that it builds up the soil and shades out the weeds between now and then.

I did get to try one pair of the $3 garage sale shoes on opening day off bass season yesterday. No complaints there, very comfortable and I had my limit of smallmouth bass in a few hours.

It don’t look like they had been worn at all previously. Just a bit of blood staining on the white laces now, from filleting the catch.

I just bought a '19 Durango GT AWD Plus.
What engine did you get in that ?

I’ve got the 4.7 liter 8 cyl in the one I use as a field car. I think it has about 140k miles on it, not sure the year. Has always started and ran great.

This thing certainly has one heck of a suspension on it. I never had a field car that rode smoother at high speed across the ditches and rough ground. I’ve also yet to get it stuck, going on (3) years now.

At first I was looking at getting a pursuit model, which comes with the 5.7 V8, but even though it's a designated beater car I decided to go with a nicer version, and a V6.

Its controls are basically identical to my Challengers', paddle shifters and all, so it should be completely familiar.

With some luck it'll be as nice as described to me (haven't even seen a photo yet), but 90K miles must've left some marks.

I'll find out next week when I have a chance to go get it.

Bought an Ironcraft 96" landscape rack. What a piece of junk. Used it for 15 minutes, 4 passes of 100 yards or so. The frame is bent, the tines are bent. It's going back to the dealer I got it from.

Yanmar quick hitch for my SA425 from a Columbus, OH dealership.

Installed it on the tractor. Struggled a bit as I did it myself, but went on OK. Next time will be easier. Now to get some suitable implements for driveway maintenance (for starters). Also need to get a canopy so I can wire up my lights after ensuring the lights are positioned correctly.

IronCraft ?

Isn't that the brand everyone has been saying is American made High quality and that Titan ( china sourced) is total junk? Asking because I bought a Titan backhoe thumb and it is really heavy built and no complaints .

To make a Stihl start and run, there is a certain mating dance you have to do precisely to get them to start. For my chain saws, it is fully choke them and pull until you hear them pop once. Then you immediately half choke them and pull once. Either they start on the first half choke pull or you have to go back to the full choke until it pops once. In 30+ years of owning Stihls, they have always started if you did the mating dance, unless they were out of fuel.

Funny. That is EXACTLY how we were taught to start Stihl power tools in my previous life in the fire department many years ago.
