Here is a picture of a softwood tree I cut, and the tape measure doesn't lie, on hardwood I try to stay at about half of that, I would love to only have to cut softwood trees but yesterday's job was 99% hardwood oak, so you have to take it like it comes.

This morning's work was a customer wanting to put in a new mobile home on a site where there was a mobile home about 10 or 12 year's ago and when they moved out they left piles of junk and tires, coolers, etc. So I told him I would get it opened up to where his crew could get in there and clean all that mess up, first thing I had to do was find the old septic tank which I was able to do with a probe rod and once I had it marked I got it cleaned up and back home before lunch, I will go back in a week or two after they have cleaned up the junk and finish the job and dress it up a little, now I'm off to go price another job that a lady called about, hope everyone has a good weekend. Charlie.

Mr. Lineman, I had a SS/mulcher spend about 7 hours at my place. It did spectacular, but left a fair amount of chunks which needed raking and cleaning up with the tractor and grapple. I couldn't mow without the cleanup.

Your "after" pictures are super clean. Do you end up with tree parts and chunks scattered about which you clean up, or do you turn everything into fine mulch?

Softwood species of trees mulch up much finer than hardwood, if I back drag a couple of times it will be finer material unless it's larger hardwood trees then you are going to have bigger chunks of wood, go back and look at the job I did Wednesday of this week, it was a hardwood scrub oaks thicket and a lot of the trees were pretty big and the chips were pretty big, but the customer was happy because he had been quoted between $3k and 4k to do what I did in 7 hours for $1500 and I do a lot of work for this customer on many different properties and he keeps using me because he says he always feels like he got a fair job for a fair price, and he likes that if I say I will be there he can count on it.

I really enjoy seeing your after pictures!!!!!
I'm glad that you enjoy the pictures, I try to get a few off of some of the more interesting jobs, I need to try and get some better pictures of the things I find while under brushing, but I'm usually to busy trying to avoid them. 😀

This morning's job was a custom spray job, customers field was overtaken with coffee bean, hairy indigo, poisonous sickle pod and several other types of weeds. I got started shortly after daylight and knocked it out, I should have smoked em , I used Grazon Next with plenty of sticker and I am confident that we will get a good kill.
