Thats why I mentioned it through the starter. Won't take much plus you can turn it backwards. The broken ring will hopefully fall down into the oil pan and maybe stuck on the bottom of the cyl. wall and top of the piston.. He's going to be turning that crank at some point until he finds the bad cylinder anyways.

Or with the tractor in high gear just rock the tractor back and forth, along with the penetrating fluid.
That me be all it needs, I don't recall anything in the previous post to make me believe it has a broken ring or piston. It would hurt to get a little endoscope camera to look in through the injector or glow plug opening;
of course with the head off it's not needed.

Tried to free it in 6th gear to no avail. I tried looking through hole by starter. On mine, it was at the very bottom of flywheel housing and the loader cross member was in the way....that hole was only dime size

Remove the starter and see if you can move the fly wheel through the mounting hole. If it don't move with very little tention forward or backwards is a big problem. Your pulling piston rods on the crank shaft until you can move the crank shaft. JMO!

I went to remove the starter today and was limited on time. Didn't get it off. I will try again

Ok, got the starter off.....very interesting sight. There was an almost gypsum type substance all over inside. Cleaned it all up but there is probably more in areas I can't reach down at the bottom of flywheel housing. Tried advancing the flywheel to no avail. Could the gypsum type material be the ceramic or organic material from the clutch? Could this be my culprit? I will say that when we drug it out of the machine shed with skid steer, when clutch was engaged, it allowed for the free movement of the rear differential and when disengaged, the rear would cease movement. Thoughts?

Could be the culprit. Looking that way. Imagine what the main drive shaft looks like. Wow!! wish I was there looking at it!!

I really hope this doesn't have to be split

I've had a gut feeling ll along you splitting the machine, but held back.

Once split, the probability of having no load on the engine is very possible.

What do you think would cause it? If clutch is working, is it something with flywheel or is it the engine?
