She’s a peeping doe.

I had a peeping "tom" annoying me for about a month. No idea where he came from but he was obviously someone's pet as he would settle down on my deck next to whichever window I happened to be near, and watch me. Never could locate the owner so finally I gave it to a neighbor who had several turkeys of his own.

For viewing on the computer, from 15 years of doing our newsletter and have to watch size of it, I've found that pictures resized (can use Paint) down to 500 to 700 pixels wide will "pop" right up even on DSL internet vs. VERY SLOW TO LOAD typical 2400 pixel or so wide ones right off your camera. And really no loss in quality for computer viewing.

Use Paint, folks, before posting your pics.

The tools are what you make them. If used in the right manner, high res cameras can bring out exquisite detail in the subject (or allow for greater cropping). But most folks only view the photos on a phone screen or small computer monitor, which usually negates any added benefit.

The 2 photos I've attached here were taken with a 43MP camera (bee) and a 61MP camera (bird). I'd have never been able to bring out the detail in the pollen or punch in enough on the Eastern Meadowlark to see the bug in its mouth with a low resolution camera.

Cameras are tools. Not every photo calls for a high res camera, just like not every nail calls for the use of a 20lb sledge. But just like I wouldn't want to spend the day driving 12in spikes with a 16oz Estwing hammer, nor would I was a low resolution camera for every occasion. There's a time and place for each.

Was trimming bushes last week and found a praying mantis ootheca (100-200 eggs). And then yesterday was out locating some underground water and electric lines, and ran the wand right next to of all things a praying mantis in the grass. What's up - a first for several of us involved on both. Is there some kind of praying mantis invasion?

In my area it seems to be a rotation of critters year to year.
Few years ago we had pheasants and then turkeys.
This year there's a bumper crop of wascally wabbits.
