85F and partly cloudy @ 13:00, heading up to around 89F for the day's high. DP 61F, HU 43%, "feels like" temp currently 87F.

Last several days have been busy ... not even sure I can recall all of it.

Live-trapped a coon a few days ago, swimming lesson, then dropped off on the brush pile at the edge of the compost/woodlot. Buzzards had a feast ... bet there were 6 - 8 of them up there.

Big fat groundhog out back yesterday afternoon, Woman had just went outside and was walking around back to the garden. I picked it off with that No. 4 shot that Lou recommended.

Took Kubota back and loaded it in the bucket and took it up to the brush pile. Woman was not happy, no heads up ... welcome to the country ... ;)

Was having coffee this morning and Woman informs me there is another groundhog out back. Picked that one off as well, need to go take that one up for the buzzards here in a bit ...

For certain, that's 4 total this year down by the house (2 juveniles, 2 adults) ... that might be all of them, will have to keep an eye out though.

Still have at least one or two more up around the shop. Getting those will require going up there in late afternoon/early evening and sitting there until they come out to feed.

Got underside and top of deck cleaned on the Cub the other day, changed out blades for ones recently sharpened. Then got the front mowed.

From the looks of it, the blades didn't really need swapped ...

Loaded relative's pick up with 2 bucketloads of screened compost day before yesterday. He came back yesterday for another 2 bucketloads.

Got most of the compost/woodlot mowed yesterday, some compost screening done as well.

Got mount for the diverter valve on friend's new tractor tacked up yesterday and sent it back to check fit. Fit ok, will spend this afternoon up in the shop finishing it up.

Amazon delivered another case of suet yesterday.

Birds now back in their rhythm with feeders being refilled and put out, hopper feeder currently needs refilled. Will also scatter seeds some for the ground feeders.

Kitchen sink clogged up yesterday, had Woman pick up some Draino and a new plunger while She was out. Got that unclogged last night.

Seeds that I planted in pots recently are starting to come up, need to water those today.

Need to check on beans ... last time I looked absolutely no sign any of those are coming up ... not sure what's up with that.

The yellow straight neck squash and zucchini that I planted about a week ago really taking off, about doubling in size every day or so. Need to water those today.

Hoping we'll be in the path of whatever is left of Beryl, a good watering would save me from having to water for another week to 10 days.

Birthday wishes to NH and congrats to Phil.

Hope everyone stays safe from Beryl and has a decent Monday ... (y)

I normally dispose of larger objects by cutting them down to size that fits in the trash can. I have gotten rid of mattresses before piece by piece. cut up my old projection TV with a sawsall.
Worked on some church stuff.

that's a good idea Buckeye, my Bosch jig saw should go right through it. Don't have a sawzall but pretty sure
it will work.
I spent ten minutes on hold with trash folks, finally did an online form.
if I don't hear back, I'll do what you suggest. I have a good heavy duty blade for the saw.

Good Morning Again,
I put up a thermometer in the barn this morning, this way I can see what the temp is for Randy and Bill, easy conversion to Centigrade! 😉
I talk in °F. I know some of the C but was educated in F and prefer to stay there.

WOW! 8+ inches off rain, I can't even imagine that.

It's sad to see an outside thermometer in Vermont that goes to 120 degrees F. When I lived there pre-1975 I don't think the temperature ever went much above 90.
Heck, I still remember signing up for fall classes at UVM one day in September and it was snowing lightly.
