I can eat TexMex most any day.

looking forward to some of that Kyle when I come through your way in two months

T - 30
I have to go to a wedding on Saturday August 31. May have to fudge my time around a bit if that is the same day.

Been a busy couple of days. Got transferred to a new line at work. Need to build 100 Allison 1000series transmissions. Basically the same tranny in the older chevies with the duramax. Another old guy and I was tasked with it. So, job security is there.

This morning after breakfast with my dad I had to replace a sticky caliper on my car and just did a complete pad and rotor replacement, and since it was in the air I changed the oil.

Gonna be mid 80's today and not a cloud in the sky so our daughter went to a lake with one of her friends family for her first time water skiing. That should be interesting
Only 2 guys building 100 transmissions?
Did daughter ski?

Good morning! 79˚F heading to the mid 90s, S wind, summer is back.

Today is picture hanging day, I think it's been long enough that we will not be changing our minds on where they go. So far we have only had to supplement our inventory by buying 3 paintings and 3 vases and a round metal thing I call the satellite dish for the kitchen.

I'm naming that "The gong that looks like brains."
It is neat looking.

I also like the boxes of Scott towels. I had a spare box on the shelve over the winter, went to get it last week and as soon as I moved it, it started to move also.
A red squirrel had chewed a corner of the box and got inside and chewed and crapped on almost every single towel I pulled out. Took that box and the squirrel that I had stomped on as we were both jumping around (hard on an old man) out to my burn spot with some used motor oil and cremated the whole box of towels. Now I need to get another box of them.
Damned squirrel in addition to costing a box of towels almost gave me a heart attack when came scrambling out of the box and up my arm before jumping to the floor.
Glad to hear your ticker is still working. Need video so you can win the 10000 dollar prize.

Good morning! Low was only 68° overnight! Way too warm above our "normal" summer lows.... should be under 60..... The high today expected to hit the mid nineties. No rain expected.

The trip to Colorado was good overall, but I struggled. Couldn't sleep Friday night before we left. I was up tossing and turning all night. Drove up anticipating getting some rest there.....nope....
Daughter had a problem with her big Ford Excursion. Took it out for a test drive.....

Loud "valve tapping" noise at around 2K rpm....
Checked the oil.... none on the dipstick....OK....
Went to the auto parts store, got what was needed for an oil change (due anyway), thinking a "little low".....
Only problem was that 2 qts of black, black, oil drained out.... should have been 7 qts.....

Got the oil change done, fingers crossed when starting..... OK, valve tap gone at idle, but still present at the 2K rpm range. Not good. She is really pizzed at her fiancé..... he had been driving it all winter and spring. Now need to research the amount of possible damage done...

So, after all that, I'm really dragging.... and .... can't sleep the second night..... felt like crap all day yesterday, then drove back home for 4 hours. Definitely slept better last night, but still woke up twice! ????
Hope you got some sleep?
Is this the guy who was paying for the Jeep repairs? Some have no idea, they just turn the key and drive away....

Didn't he tear up the Jeep too?
(I need to go check the oil in my car.....)

Gentlemen it is my fault I left in the bed of my truck, too trusting I guess but lesson learned, great puppy pictures Rigby is going to be quite the dog
Not your fault. Thieves fault. Very frustrating that we now have a class of people who work for their stuff, and there is a growing class of remoras that lie, cheat and steal their way through a crappy life. No thanks to bad district attorneys and judges. Bring back Sheriff Joe prisons across America.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low was a frosty -2.1C and it's presently 13.1C, clear & calm.

Yesterday's Doctor appointment went very well: new scripts and, of course, he wants some 'fasting' blood-work. I also received my 'shingles' vaccine = an uncomfortable left shoulder for a few days. It turns out that I'll need a follow-up shot in a couple of months.

I inspected the First Aid kit in the Church Hall. Practically everything was out-of-date, according to the packaging. Honestly, a packaged 'sterile' bandage/pad/patch/wipe, that's never been opened, needs to be replaced? It must be a CYA/insurance thing. The cost of a 're-stocking kit' is practically the same as a whole new kit! <SMH>

Not much on for today, which is fine by me.

That's about it, take care all.

Good morning, the low is 60 and going to a high of 75°F. Wind E 8 mph. 70% chance of showers.

Got the fertilizer yesterday. I'll be spreading that today and as long as it isn't raining too hard I will do it in the rain.

I am up way too early, but I can always go back to bed for a power nap.

Where is Judge Roy Bean when we need him?

Many Years ago I had 2 'Jack-all's [farm jacks] in the bed of my pick-up. A 4 footer and a 3 footer. Someone stole the 4 footer. I hope they broke their arm when they used it. All you had to do to get it to lower with a load on it was flip the lever from raise to lower and give the handle a good throw down. The jack would lower itself. Good for at the least a broken hand. Made a plywood bed cover for it after the jack-all went missing. It is a wonder that I never had any gas stolen, the 53 gallon gas tank [diesel step tank off a big truck that was written off] was mounted in the bed right behind the cab. 4" fill hole with a trap door in the bed cover to access the fuel cap. I could go to Montreal and back on one tank of fuel.

1.5 hours 'till daybreak. Time to try and get my butt in gear.

Have a safe day all

Good morning all,
66° now highs in the upper 80’s and cloudy with chance showers/boomers again today. Winds SSW 10-15 mph. Dew point around 70° all day.
(We did get 0.14” rain yesterday)

Quiet day yesterday, only went out to fill car with gas and pickup sandwiches for supper.

Nothing much planned for today, pay some bills, play in the garden some. May start working on next year’s budget spreadsheet or not lol.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Coffee is brewing. 68° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 83° with partly cloudy skies. Trying to turn water off to garden pond. Found the connection and shutoff valve was buried in dirt. A ground hog had decided to make its home under shrubs. It will not be doing that any more. Took Mule out in field with blade trimmer and cut down all the Thistles growing there. Noticed that choke on Mule was not turning off. Found part of linkage had come loose. All fixed. No plans for today. Other than PT.
Yesterday Sunrise.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

71 heading to 89. Maybe a much needed rain.

RNG, the smoke from the big fire is headed here tomorrow. The fire shown on the news looks terrible.

BEF, that's a lot of concerts. Went to a Beach Boys concert when I was 12 at The Dome in Virginia Beach. Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs opened for them...lots of fun.

LS, Max is looking chill. Hope you're feeling better.
(I need to go check the oil in my car.....)

Ditto, the oil check. Amen to law and order, and not Buppies fault.

Put on the backpack sprayer and went poison ivy and bindweed hunting yesterday for 2 hours...glad I was done by 10am because it got sunny and hot. Grabbed a midday nap, then took Della for an afternoon hike.

Wooly Bully! :D
Amen to law and order, and not Buppies fault.
Agreed 110%
We met one "friend" on the trail...
Had two small ribbon snakes in the yard recently. Fortunately Rigby did not see either one!

Rigby's formal obedience training starts on Thursday. He already knows commands like sit, stay, down, and roll over. We enjoy training him and he likes to learn and get treats.

60F headed 90F today. I'm can work at 90F. When it hits 100F-- time to find shade.

Everyone have a great day!!!

Good Morning
74°, high of 85 with thunderstorms likely late afternoon or evening.
Yesterday was fairly productive, got some ductwork done, turned the water on and checked all the plumbing for leaks, filled the radiant heat loops and boiler, bled the air out and ran the “de-aeration” program in the boiler after getting the zone controller, circulator and zone valves all wired up.

IMG_4902.jpg

It’s interesting that in all of the seemingly identical pictures of the boiler room, there’s been hours of work between them.

IMG_4901.jpg

Not sure what’s on tap for today, maybe run some wires for speakers in the ceiling of the great room.

good morning all
looks like we will finally get some measurable rain later today,
definitely needed here though lawn is green.

more tomatoes to deliver this morning, these will go to a friend who runs a B&B downtown.
I'll take the rest of them, the not so perfect ones, to the food pantry across the river in Lambertville.

finally got to eat some of my own baby yellow squash last night for dinner. It was darned good just fried in butter
and herbs. The latest squash is a pattipan that has grown large, now a large fat space ship looking thing.
Will need to chop that up in some shapes and I think I'll try to cook on the barbecue.
any suggestions for seasoning that?
squash sure needs something

I asked my endocrinologist to send a scrip for Wegovy/? to local drugstore that will compound the drug
aka make it yourself, for one third the cost. Demand outstrips supply, permission given to compounding pharmacies
to peddle it that way. With insurance, the cost was 785 a month. under 300 this way

first thing I asked is where do you get your ingredients?
same place as everyone else does locally, so not his BIL in India.

not thrilled about jabbing a needle in my hip once a week but going to try.
buying that xxl shirt really depressed me, have to do something
need to focus on better food choices also.
besides that xxl shirt doesn't fit right, too big in the shoulders, but a comfy
travel shirt. I'm partial to Columbia fishing style shirts, good UV protection

have a good Tuesday, or if Wagtail, hope you had a good one

Good morning! 78˚F before sunrise partly cloudy skies in the morning clearing in the afternoon heading to the mid 90s. No rain.

Hung only 2 pictures yesterday because we went hunting for collectables at the resale consignment store. We have been finding unique items there, not the plastic disposable items from China. However yesterday we brought home no treasures. Have some more pictures to hang today. and maybe a lawn mowing.

The Fountain filter should come in today but Amazon usually delivers late here so filling the fountain may have to wait till tomorrow.

At cards last night (which I only won 1 game) I played with a guy that has been trying to sell his house for the last 3 months. He said the lookers have stopped coming by and that now there are 150 used homes for sale in the neighborhood plus the new builds that he is competing with. I still feel lucky to have sold our old house a few hours after the first day of showing it.

My new neighbors house goes on the market in a few weeks, he will be asking more than I paid for this house because his half acre includes a casita which is perfect for an elderly parent. He is moving to Alaska. So many people move to be near their families in their twilight years.

Good Morning,
Ct, 68 to start going to 86 or so with heavy humidity back again !

Paul that boiler room sure looks complicated, I can’t even imagine the hours spent hooking up all the electrical and plumbing components !

Ted, sorry to hear about your daughters vehicle, hopefully you caught the low oil in time !

Work today, hopeful to get out early! Have to do some shopping at BJ’s after work for the FD concert on Saturday! It will be a quick trip to Vt tmrw morning, coming back on Friday, will mow the grass and won’t be back there until third week in August !

Time to get going, hope all have a good day ! 🙏

Kyle, I'll be in Texas October 6-12
seems more sensible to wait until I get into California so I know my
date line plans still work. I will then make reservations for the campgrounds to stay at
and we can make better plans. But this will be my navigation path and the campgrounds I've picked out
so far. But I can move the route if a better idea.
I've left enough time for Texas to hopefully make this easy on folks.

Once I leave California, and accomplished my goal of seeing my sisters four grandchildren for the first time
I'm just not in any rush to get home.
I'm not going to get snowed on, hopefully will have beat it out of Colorado before that happens.
At that point probably will be nice to get in cooler areas on way home.
Sitting on the beach at Crystal Beach TX and Gulf Shores Alabama should be very nice in October.

there is a rv museum in Amarillo I thought would be fun to check out on the way. That will be a long day if I go to the big steak
place there. I'm wondering if I can get take out from there, good food but in a very quiet rv.
Restaurants are killers on my tinnitus.

I'd like TexMex please. I'd like to try Texas style barbecue. And I'm partial to German food. Love seafood but no raw fish.
I just know Don will make something really outstanding that is vegan, or we'll go to his favorite restaurant there.
after I get out of his pool. Life is good. (y)
