CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

Hello All, I have been waiting to update in the hopes that I would have good news....but alas it is not to be. So here are the updates on everything:

1. The repairing dealer offered to trade in this tractor for a new one on his lot for $4,000 difference. OUCH. why pay more money for a "new one" that has the same issue?

2. The repairing dealer said that all the tractors on his lot make the same noise, some not as bad but the noise is there in all of them.

2.5 They tried a lighter hydrostatic fluid, no change.

3. My father has been unable to leave the house since he started the chemo treatments. Absolutely zero strength.

On August 5 we are to have a meeting with the ecologist to determine the next steps and hopefully get some kind of timeline. thus far they have been pretty evasive with that. One thing I know for sure, he won't last much longer taking these treatments. They are going to have to stop.

The tractor has been sitting in the shed since they brought it backing saying there is nothing they can do. It will likely sit there until the estate sale.

Burn in hell TYM.

Sorry about your father.

I will say this if the unit is under warranty, I would drive it till it breaks. Then keep doing it, till they get engineering involved. Nothing happens till it starts costing tym money. You have literally nothing to lose.

I wish you luck with whatever decision you make.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Along with the radiation I also started a 2 year course of chemo prescribed by my oncologist. My wife despaired because of how bad I looked, she thought the end was near and that I must be really sick from the chemo. But I managed to make it through the chemo and 9 years later I am still cancer free. My point is that maybe things are not as bad as the seem. I sure hope not and I am rooting for you and your dad.

I have seen people with stage 4 cancers and 5, 6, 10 years later are still around. My niece had a bad stage 4 and 10 years later looks better than she ever has.

So just a follow up question for all the newer TYM owners...next time you drive your tractor, put it in a full turn left or right and see if you hear/feel a slight knocking through the steering wheel as you are turning.

Just curious if this is "normal" as the first original dealer said all their tractors do it...its just the way TYMs are...

To be clear, the part in question is not after market, it is original..we need a new wheel final drive case as the original has a jagged hole in it after 20 hours of use. The repairing dealer says they are made "paper thin" along the lines of what Caleb90 is saying...and Caleb...thanks for your confirming that TYM is impossible to get a hold of.

I dont have tym, but have experienced the "knock" on my Mahindra 7520 when in very tight turns while in 4WD. The limited slip front diff causes it. Since, I think, you said yours did it 4wd or not I discounted that as being your issue.

I recently found out that the dealer that sold me my T494 is no longer selling TYM tractors. They claim TYM was slow to provide parts and they had issues responding to warranty claims.

The dealer claims this all happened shortly after I bought the T494 from them. The dealer never contacted me about these issues, I just happened to look at their website and noticed they no longer sold TYM so I contacted them to find out what was going on.

Yes, it is insane or strange. I wonder if the story they gave was BS.
