That's probably the most common cause of a tractor not starting....it's happened to me almost on a yearly basis. I use a rat-tailed file on the round cable connector and stiff wire brush on the battery terminal itself. Thanks for sharing.

Funny thing is I used to have that happen on my MG Midget back in the 80's and began using those little washers back then but was just burned out, not feeling well and too hot on the day it quit I think!

I dated a girl who drove an MG Midget in high school. Never again will any car maker selling in the USA be allowed to care so little about human life.
You could almost reach the dash with your tongue, without even leaning forward in the passenger seat, and I swear my toes were tickling the back side of the front bumper.

Actually the Midget had more room than most realized but I preferred the BGT myself or seen here with my Mini Cooper I drove across the country and back for a charity!

Loved those cars. I drove one of the old Mini Cooper S's in Germany, in the 1990's. Actually started paperwork to ship it back to the USA, but ran out of time getting things signed off and waiting to learn if I could tag it in PA, before I had to leave the country... so I had the leave the car behind.
Yeah, the Midget actually had decent leg room. It was really just the relationship between the dash and your face that made it feel tight. Another friend had an MG-B, which was a much larger car, but oddly didn't have any more leg room than the Midget. They were both underpowered little turds, by today's standards, but lots of fun!

It's funny, by today's standard my Dad's race car would be under powered and yet in the 70's it was a fire breathing dragon! 140mph BEFORE it looked like this and got faster but I don't think it ever even had 200hp. Maybe but if so, just!
Later, as the 'Rainbow Warrior' (not the same thing as what it means today!) it was even faster and won two nationals (Canada) and 7 Regionals (BC). Yet, again, it was a slug compared to today's cars! My WRX has 275hp box stock! But I love these old cars and driving them was a dream! Bought my first BGT in 86 when I was in the Marine Corps and drove it for hours and hours afterwards! Fit like a glove too and I loved that but then, you see why I'm sure.
