Interesting. Of course I’ve discarded about a dozen or so pineapple peelings past couple of weeks.
Discard in that they went to the neighborhood cows.
It is supposed to taste like a Pina colada tea, I'll let you know after Amazon delivers a couple of the ingredients in the recipe.

I wonder what dole does with the peelings?

52°F and clear skies this morning, and only got up to 73° today.

Went to Centralia IL to pick up the zero turn mower, which was finally ready earlier this week. Man, so glad to have it back. Much easier and faster than mowing with the rider. Took it for a spin around the area between the driveway and the barn, and 3-1/2 hours later I'd mowed everything but the pasture. It seems to still be having some trouble holding power when under a thick load, but not nearly as bad as before.

On the way back from Centralia, we stopped at the boy's place to make some modifications to the wheelchair, and the accessories bag hanging on his walker. Ended up being there about two hours because we couldn't keep our jaws from flapping.

Thanks, Kyle. I'm trying to get on here more often. I miss chatting with you guys every day. The job is going well, with challenges pretty much every day. They keep me very busy. Coming up on two years there already.

Nice pics, Drew.

Good evening, gents.
glad you got the Z turn back. It sucks when you have something that works so well, but is broken. My pressure washer comes to mind...

hmmm, I'll be in Reno on Saturday. Will sure keep my eye on that
my trip software has both weather and fire/smoke overlays which I will study carefully the night before heading that way. Yes, keep the firefighters safe.

I found not only one leak but two. sigh.
first one is coming out of this cheesy plastic box manifold which I'm not sure goes where, but the one of the connectors was a little loose. Tightened that up. But now a pex problem.

how does one get a pex style crimp connector off a non pex hose?
looking at this looks like I need to expand it, not squeeze it.
water is drip, drip dripping out of that joint. This is exactly the problem with possibly hundreds of thousands of poorly plumbed rvs. They used crimp connectors on regular plastic hose and they fail over time. Like this one did. I suppose I could try to crimp tighter first?

so how do you get one of these off carefully since it's connected to something that looks delicate? thanks
I might also try to get a regular worm gear hose clamp in on top of the very end, see if that seals. That's what's going on anyway, and I have the socket to tighten it down pretty well. I"m figuring it is loose enough to leak, should twist off ok if I just cut the hose further down.

pic won't post

I use a “Wiz Wheel” (abrasive disc) on a cordless dremel style tool in tight places.
Exactly what I was going to recommend.

put on three hose clamps, stopped leaks, simply could not reach the one dripping at very bottom in rear. I simply don't fit in there and this hurts my fused neck. I got the hose clamp in the right spot but can't get angle to tighten it.

decided least dangerous approach was to add hose clamps not mess with crimp connectors. I see what they did, they put some glop on end of male fitting and then crimped the soft hose on top of it.

so I fixed three out of four could not do the fourth.
oh well, stuffed a towel in there, I'm good at that.
maybe I can find a good Samaritan nearby...

and actually I did. Guy my age next door, but smaller, was packing up and I had a dog treat for his dog, and I joked could I bribe your dog and you to be a good samaritan?
well what do you need?
I need a hose clamp tightened and I don't fit in there due to fused neck.
well, let me take a look at it.
this guy is easily my height but he fit down there and said he needed to take
something apart to get the hose clamp on. (uh oh)
I'll post a pic when I can. internet won't let me post pics at times.
appears to be tiny check valve on a spring

and now no leaks at all hooked up to campground water.
yeah.
for the moment

headed out to ride my bike now that job number one got done.
Glad for good Samaritans. Hope it holds! That little part looks like a check valve maybe?

Yesterday until 10pm, I changed the oil in my tiny small car I call my "spare tire". It had 5300 miles on it since the last oil change....back in June 2021....Ooops.

I bought it with 220,000 miles from the 2nd owner. It is the one I've had to put a new clutch and all new A/C in. I noticed the where you put the oil in had a bit of varnish on the metal, so I put a cup of Marvel Mystery oil in with the 4 quarts of synthetic. Marvel says it can make up to 20% of it into the oil. I hope it cleans up the insides.

Got up and Went to church. It was good.

Watched yesterday's Motocross races from Charlotte on replay. Good racing. Now watching some football.

I have a problem with cellar spiders in my barn. They are everywhere. Thinking of setting off an aerosol bug spray bomb?

Prayers for our team, our nation, Ukraine and Israel.

I got this off google:
Natural pest control: Cellar spiders are harmless to humans, but they're not harmless to other pests in your house. Cellar spiders eat gnats, flies, moths, even mosquitoes and other spiders. They can play a major role in keeping pest populations in line.Sep 15, 2021

44°F and clear skies this morning, and only got up to 75° here today. 80s all week until Friday, then back into the 70s for a couple of days. Fall is definitely trying to creep in around here, too. I even wore sweat pants this morning.

We had a large area of rip rap wash out of the swale from the front of the pond during our last big storm. The rushing water cleared an area about 10 feet long, and restacked the rocks a little further down. Today seemed like a good day to fix that. I got about halfway done when an overly aggressive wasp decided to start harassing me. I backed off about 15 yards before he stopped, and I watched him fly back into a hole between some rocks on the north side, just a few feet from where I was working. So, I sauntered back to the house and grabbed a can of wasp and hornet spray from the garage. The Spectracide can said it kills on contact ... I can tell you it does not. What it actually does is make the whole nest really angry and inspires them to swarm the entire area, which I felt obliged to vacate with haste.

Tried to take a short nap after that, but The Wife wanted some stuff that required me to make the trek to the Fairview Heights Home Depot. After returning, I looked briefly for where I laid down my ambition, but did not find it.

May have to take a trip out there after dark and give that hole a puff of diatomaceous earth.

Nice pictures, everyone.

Good evening, gents.
