Hello everyone I just joined TractorByNet. I like your post. I bought my MF 1825E in the spring of 23', I like it very much, but I have a question.....I've being try to buy a tiller, for it but I'm having a hard time finding something compatible with the PTO horse power of the tractor (19 HP) and they're also very expensive. Can anybody help me to find some implements? I live in Aynor, South Carolina. Thank you.

As folks have said, a 4-5 ft tiller would work best. A 4 foot would be best offset, but it's smaller size would be more efficient with the small horsepower. That said, if your garden isn't up-hill you ought to be fine with a 5 ft going slow.

The 1825E is well regarded, and from what I've seen they stout tractors. Congratulations.

So there is a saying that basically guarantees your implement and tractor will work well together, and that's "5 pto horsepower for every foot of width."

That said, it's not a rule, and it varies by situation. With something like a tiller, depending on your land, you should be fine just to slow down while running the RPMs up.

Add some speed or a hill and you may be unhappy.

From my understanding, a reverse rotation will do a better job per pass but will use a little more horsepower.

I think a reverse rotation you would want to stick to 48-56 inches, offset.

My brother runs a 72" woods reverse tine tiller on his L2501 w/ hydrostatic transmission.

Thats the same pto horsepower as the 1825E.

You just go slow and let the tiller do the work.

When the implement is free, you work with what your given

Dad used it on his L2250. When he traded the tractor in for his L2501, he gave the tiller to my brother. He wasn't into having a garden any more and my brother was keeping him stocked in veggies anyway.

Now I never said my brother tilled his garden fast with it. He goes slow and if the engine starts to bog, he goes even slower.

After the initial till of the season it's not a big deal.

It absolutely would not cover them, lol; they sell offset models that will help by setting it off behind a tire.

60" probably won't cover the tires if they are in the widest position.

Dealer put my tires on in the narrow width and they are a couple inches under the width of my 60" rotary cutter.

One of these weekends I'm gonna rotate the tires around to the widest width for stability. I'm not concerned about the tires being wider than the brush hog.
