Last week my TC35 wouldn't start, so I thought I'd check the battery connections first. When taking off the first side, my wrench slipped and hit both terminals ... small spark ... I cleaned the connections and tightened them. I went to try to start it and got nothing ... dead as dead can be ... not even the glow plug light came on. I think this is important ... I had left the key in the "on" position, so the battery arc'd with the key in the "on" position.
I tested the battery and it showed "0.0."
I got a new battery and installed it this morning. The instant that I connected the second cable, the glow plug light came on. When I went to start it, I found that the key was in the "off" position. Nonetheless, I turned the key to "on" and waited for the glow plug light to go off ... it never did. After about 3 - 4 minutes, I went ahead and tried starting the tractor and it cranked up right away. I ran it for a couple minutes and the glow plug light NEVER went off. I turned off the tractor and the glow plug light remained on. I removed the key and the glow plug light remained on.
I removed the positive battery cable so the glow plug light would go off, which it did.
Why is the glow plug light remaining on?
What do I need to check?
Thanks for reading and for any suggestions!!!
