That’s been the story of this Spring around here, too. I got stuck Monday and used my F to pull the ZD-1211 out. I know how you feel.

I haven't had to yank my zt out of the mud yet this season.... but I'm sure I will eventually.
Going down a section of my bank (about 28 deg) it gets real dicey. This season I'm going to try real hard to just let it grow wild with some cone flowers. With dry conditions I feel pretty comfortable at 20 degrees or so mowing across the slope.

@Hay Dude was right.

I was totally disappointed with this new F3710 mowing my steep bank horizontally
It wouldn’t stay strait.
Kept sliding downhill on Bone dry ground.
It does GREAT mowing strait up or strait down.

I finally fluid filled all 4 of my tires today.

I’ll have to try it again mowing sideways later : if we’ll get some rain to make grass grow.

@LouNY 20psi.
My ZD1511 will roll the tire completely off the rim & loose all my fluid IF I run less mowing the same bank horizontally.

I ruined one tire last year

@arto98607 & @Doug Vee & guys running Rear Discharge decks : how is the clippings in heavy thick grass ?

I had a ZD1211 72 RD that windrowed bad.
I loved no dust & staying clean but when the clippings turned brown in 2 days : it looked awful

It was fine if / when I mowed every week on time like clockwork.

Did you have any issues with your ZD1211 RD overheating? I just purchased one - it's brand new; it overheated twice in the first two hours of mowing! Alarms and Red Light! It had about 3 inches of grass build up behind the seat and the bottom of the radiator - after cleaning out it was fine for an hour until it overheated again. I'm very disappointed. I'm concerned RD kicks too much grass on the engine and doesn't work. It has been dry around here, but it should be able to handle some grass build up without problems. I traded in for a Hustler 104 Air Cooled Gas engine and it never overheated.

I have 2 side discharge 1211-72’s and was very impressed at how cool they ran.
About a month ago I had to cut a few acres of 3 foot tall grass and it was bone dry.
It never over heated and the bonnet did a great job keeping the rad clean.

I guess the rear discharge is a different story.

good to know. thanks for your reply. I'm either going to swap out the RD for SD or consider trading it for a 2024 F3710 SD. I'm cutting mainly fields (not long though) and it's pretty rough ground. I found the ZD bouncy

I had an F 3680 and it rode terrible compared to my ZD’s. The little tires on the back are part of the reason.
