I use my bobcat around my house for various projects. It's a T595. I use it a few times a year.

How do light residential guys keep there machines fueled? Filling the 5 gas containers seems like a lot of work. I was thinking about getting a transfer pump and just pumping straight out of my trucks fuel tank in to the bobcat. Is this a thing?

edit something like attached picture. Drop the supply side directly in to my trucks gas tank? Is that foolish to think that hose will reach down in to the tank? I am guessing there is some anti theft stuff to prevent that from being done? This is 2011 chevy

I have my Kubota tractor, Cat Skidsteer and a Bobcat mini x. I probably use 50/75 gallons a year and its a pita to load them up on a trailer to go fuel them, So I goy a 45 gallon L shaped tank that would go in the bed of a truck and put it in a small 4x6 trailer with a battery operated pump. When I need to fill something, I just connect my battery jump box to the pump cables. When the tank gets low, I just bring it to the station and refill. A couple times I have had the heating oil guy fill it while they were filling our house tank.

I'd stay with a fuel caddy of some sort, out there in Cali red diesel (off road) is about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than road fuel..... BUT I'm fueling a SCUT, and only burn maybe 20-25 gallons a year so two 5 gallon cans works for me....

My 2007 GMC has anti theft stuff preventing siphoning, I've already tried it.

275gal heating oil tank with a hand crank transfer pump. Also just a home owner. Filled the tank at $1.28gal in 3/2020 and it's still 1/2 full. No algee or water in it. I do have a goldenrod filter on it.

The whole setup cost under $120.

I use about 50 - 60 gallons a year and have few 55 gallon poly drums & 12V GPI Diesel fuel pump, fill up empty drums when the off-road Diesel price is low and use the same pump to transfer the fuel to drums in the barn.

3 - 4 drums in the back of pickup truck are filled at a local station no problem.
