Winter Gloves

deserteagle71 - I can certainly relate to the aching hands when they get so darn cold. And running them under water - warm or cool - only makes it worse.

No matter how hard I try - there will be a time or two when the job absolutely must be done and the hands - will suffer.

So - even now, sitting and typing - my hands are getting cold. Time to wrap them around another cup of coffee.

I strongly recommend aspercreme (or the identical generic that's right next to it at CVS for half the price!) for hands.
I don't think I have arthritis (yet) but occasionally I do some sort of work and various pieces of my hands are super sore, especially at night. I just pretend like the stuff is lotion and work it into the sore parts and presto no pain. Works well on other joints, too, and aspirin is an anti-inflammatory agent so it's not just killing pain, it's helping the healing process by allowing repairs to get to the problem areas.

At my age - never can tell what might be sore next.

Back on topic. Several guys in our snow mobile group had electrically heated gloves. Their machines had cigarette lighters. This was long before all these types of little rectangular plugs. Back in the '70's. Pretty long cord and just plug into the cigarette lighter. Now - my ATV has heated grips - so did my motorcycle - and the Taco Wagon has a heated steering wheel. I still have my electric gloves and jacket that I used on the BMW motorcycle.

And the final straw. When my back or shoulders are stiff or sore. Brownie and I go out to the Taco Wagon for a half hour of "therapy". Taco Wagon at idle. Turn the heat on for Brownie's seat. And the heat AND massage for mine. Another reason I bought the Power Wagon.

Ain't life grand...........

Motorcycle heated grips are a life-saver (literally; numb hands = slow reactions if any). I found that my seat warmer was good for at least another 10 degrees of cold-weather rideability, but I have to admit that winter riding really isn't my thing. I'm great in almost any temperature cross-country skiing but at least highway riding on a motorcycle I don't generate enough heat of my own.

Tractor Supply had gloves on special so I worked my way through trying on different pairs for fit and comfort. I bought these three pairs. The Arctik are the most comfortable but feel pretty lightweight. I'll believe it when I "feel" it but they were not that much. It is supposed to be 21 degrees in the am and down into the teens in the next few days. Perhaps I should have joined the snow geese that have been flying south these last couple of days?

I'm on long-term aspirin therapy for my heart; Dr. said not to take any more or I might begin bleeding through my veins. Just sayin.

No, I don’t think they make them. My hands are pretty big, but they seem to fit ok!
