You might need to look at the company org chart, before completely letting them off the hook. I've worked in America under both German and French engineering managers, with almost suspicious frequency.

I assume you mean the image, and not my bosses?

I actually don't mind the Hurricane complexity, but I'm a nerd who loves horsepower at any cost. We all know a reliable and compact twin turbo with any reasonable power curve is going to be a complex beast... and there it is!

I remember "simple" turbo engines of 30 years ago. They were terrible. Nothing off the line, and then spooling up in an almost uncontrollable way, as the tach climbed. No thanks!

Compared to Chrysler late model Hemi engines it does have a lot of crap. The newer Hemi engines are really pretty wide open to work on compared to some.

It could, the Maverick hybrid has 3 cooling systems, 1 for gas engine, 1 for batteries, and 1 for the EGR... atleast according to a video I watched

Looks like a heat exchanger. Seeing as it appears to be in the air intake, I’d guess some type of cooler.

50% plastic, 50% metal, I'd be hard pressed to validate purchasing something like that but it's the way things are going. To each his own tho.

So, I was casually browsing FB Marketplace, saving items that I'm never going to buy or even message folks about, as everyone does , and I came across a Ford Explorer with a bad turbo. So, hop online, expecting a turbo to be $4500 or so; and I was surprised, I think it was $800. With that, no idea what a Hurricane turbo costs, but let's say they are $1200 each, that's less of a boulder hanging over the buyers head than I expected.
