I’m looking to buy my daughter a dash cam for Christmas. She has a 30 mile daily commute on a two lane secondary road that most folks go way too fast on. I’m searching for a front and rear looking cam for around $200. Recommendations appreciated.

I installed a VIOFO A129 Pro (HK3 ACC Hardwire kit) in our 22 Highlander a couple months ago and I am very happy with it. They sell multi-channel but I chose single channel only because I didn't want to deal with the second channel wiring. It is my second VIOFO dash cam, the first has been working fine in another vehicle for 5 years. Ordered it direct from the VIOFO site (China) on sale and free shipping less than $200, better pricing than Amz. It was delivered in a timely manner, although the site order tracking function was not functional. The site and communications read a little "translated" but I have no complaint with the product or service and they have been in business for many years.

We've had a pair of Viofo A119's in our two cars for years, but I very recently upgraded one of them to the Viofo A329 (front facing only). Quality is superb. They have a range of models to suit most applications (ie front & rear facing) and with different resolutions, etc. Check out their website and you're sure to find a model which suits. I can't comment on prices though, as we always pay a premium down here...

I spent the last day reading about the
VIOFO A229 Plus 2CH Front and Rear 2K+2K HDR 5GHz Wi-Fi GPS Voice Control Dual Dash Camera with Sony STARVIS 2 Sensor
I have one in my VIOFO shopping cart for about $210. I was ready to pull the trigger until I went to Amazon and started reading the one star reviews. I didn't read the five star ones because the VIOFO is highly touted everywhere else. You can read the one star here,
I've been wanting a dashcam for a while, but I guess I'm going to wait a while longer.

What is a good current recommendation for one, please? Say max £100 budget and something unobtrusive and easy to wire in. Rear view good to have too? Or not so critical since by law the person who may rear-end you is to blame?
