Good morning!!!!

Morning all!
31 with freezing rain and sleet. Supposed to warm up for the next 3 days with rain forecast for all of them.
Yesterday was a pain! Started out with nephew being involved in a car accident at 12:45 am! He's ok but the car is totaled.
Then we got a call of no heat at the apartment! Out of fuel for the 4th time! Not supposed to happen as it's on automatic fill!
Spent the rest of the day at insurance company and body shop. At least no one was hurt!!

Currently having bad acid reflux attacks again. Have been waking me up during the night.
Hopefully will get better from here. Need to rid the house of all the foods I'm not supposed to eat!

Gave myself a few days away from the wood shop as things weren't going good there either. Kept having issues with wood trying to kill or maim me!
Maybe try again later today. Do need to go down and straighten out the shelves and benches. Also need to order a new circuit board for the pellet stove down there. Blower motor isn't coming up to speed as it should.

New property tax bill came in yesterday! Rate has gone up over 300 per quarter! Sure glad wife is filing for retirement in January. We will need the income just to keep up with inflation!

Enough ranting from me. I know there are allot more people out there with bigger problems then mine!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Praying for all and keeping you in my thoughts! Hopefully next year will be better!

good morning all
a wet morning here too, going to rain all day
have zero planned for today, might get a few things done in garage.

Mostly, that was a lot of catching up to do
Phil, had terrible acid reflux myself, have bottles of Tums all over, under control now
Phil, try not to eat after 7pm and see if you can sleep with head raised a little.
they gave me a list of ten things not to eat/do and I was doing 8 of them...including breath mints.
who knew breath mints gave you GERD?
quite a list of things to avoid, but big late meals at holidays are a major issue

slept like a rock last night. Must have been Buppie's good morning/evening I didn't hear earlier...
hope you all have a good weekend

Foods that can worsen acid reflux include:
High-fat foods: Fatty meats, processed foods, fried foods, dairy products (especially full-fat milk and cheese)

Acidic foods: Citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit, lemon), tomatoes, tomato sauce, vinegar, onions, garlic

Spicy foods: Chili peppers, black pepper, cayenne pepper

Chocolate: Contains caffeine and theobromine, which relax the esophageal sphincter

Caffeine: Found in coffee, tea, and some sodas, caffeine relaxes the esophageal sphincter

Alcohol: Relaxes the esophageal sphincter and increases stomach acid production

Carbonated beverages: The pressure from the carbonation can push stomach acid back up into the esophagus

Other: Processed meats, artificial sweeteners, large meals, late-night eating

Good morning, the low is 31 and going to a high of 41°F. Wind ESE 15 mph. Rain mixed with freezing rain.

With a forecast like that, I might stall the dump run off to tomorrow when it is only supposed to be cloudy.

When I went out to retrieve the amazon package I got this morning the roof was dripping and the deck was wet, but it wasn't raining.

The lights might go out today...Freezing rain has a habit of doing that. Hydro wont take my advice and cut everything within 100' of their lines. They claim that too many people value the trees over the lights being on. I am the opposite.

While I was plowing the other day I saw two sets of jack rabbit tracks about 200' apart. Both were going in the same direction. One was really trucking, the tracks were about 8' apart.

I guess I will jump down the you tube rabbit hole for a while.

Have a safe day all

41 and raining, going to 50.

Phil, I hope things go better for you today!

Thomas, I like the sounds of free critter food. I guess you still haven't seen Boo.

Son and family decided to spend another night, so we had fun with granddaughter. Son's car battery died when they were trying to leave home to get here, so they got a jump there, drove here, and then yesterday I took him to Costco to get a new one. They gave me a Torchy's Tacos baseball hat for Christmas. I guess I've talked about it a lot. 😁 Had a good hike.

Found a tick on me last night in shower...never had one embedded like this...wife did the "surgery" after I struggled a bit. DIL is a nurse and talked me into going to the urgent care this morning.

Happy(NC) feet warmer looks sad. If solenoid fires when jumping nothing wrong with solenoid. Check voltage to solenoid and ground. If voltage low at solenoid check voltage drop across key. Should ha 12V at key and solenoid. ground needs to be clean and tight.
That's because he was waiting on his dinner :)
I may have misworded the "jump". I meant across the solenoid posts of the solenoid.

one of my xmas gifts was from my brother, who had made copies of
pictures of our family farm. The up close picture was from the real estate brochure and the
larger picture I thought from Bowman's Hill with a telephoto, but no.
Apparently they knew someone with a plane who took pictures (like Popgadget) and that pic
was from a plane looking North on the farm.

they allowed new owner to tear that 1720 home down to the foundation and rebuild it. Into a garage.
and then built a 12,000 sf monstrosity on the front lawn.

there were three rocks in the front lawn. I knew them ever so well since
I had to trim them with the mower every week.
two are shown, the "Big Rock" was a little further out, and the one
we played king of the mountain on, when falling off a few feet to the ground
was simply good fun.
thank goodness they left the rocks.
otherwise hard to tell where I am.
thankfully they preserved the smaller home, which was my grandfather's, and the one I lived in
for several years. The one with the travertine bathroom. All circa about 1930.

I'd rather remember the place the way as it was. At least all the fields are in permanent land preservation, which
was a requirement our family had for any buyer. From Aquetong Road you can't see any new houses, all hidden back
in the woods. Ten multimillion dollar homes on 5 acre wooded lots. Rockwood Farm became Rockwood Path.
but at least there is a green preservation sign out front.

farm started off being 93 acres and then my father saw a tax sale and bought all the land down to the Delaware River
for something silly like the tax owed of 91 dollars. They had to post it and wait three years, and then it was ours. 116 acres,
previously owned by the Turnbulls and before that the Pidcocks.

looks like whoever is doing the fields is also planting the small one across the street.
can anyone suggest what crop that is? Looks like hair braids.

My parents died and my old homestead was sold off as well. It is painful to drive by there. At least my wife's homestead is still in her family and we live there.

Did she put a gun to your head?
I hope nothing comes of the tick bite. They do carry Lyme disease.
