Saw YouTube video yesterday about gas buddy selling your driving info. TX suing Allstate regarding them getting more driving info than they claim to collect. Lawsuits against GM for onstar tracking.
I removed the Mazda app from my phone. Not going to use my phone and data I pay for, to spy on my driving.

35 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's with a blast of serious cold air moving in sometime tomorrow. It's sprinkling right now, so it is not pleasant outside.

Got some movement on my Dad's estate in multiple areas. Unfortunate both will require more time. So...we wait. More lawyers, but now from another party, that was to be expected, at least we are not footing the bill.

MIL signed off on her settlement papers yesterday. That was good news. Unfortunate we still have title issues with four cars and are in the morass of stupidity in dealing with the state/county on them. And boy do I mean stupid stuff. The DMV, seems no matter what state, just does not make sense.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe.

Good morning TBN!!

34 this morning and may make 50 again although with out the sunny clouds. Cold snap is coming this way too. We will be lucky to get out of the 20s on Mon, Tues, and Wed.
Not a whole lot yesterday except walking. Did the dump run in the morning and to a local hardware store that didn't have what I wanted. So I put that on the back burner.
Went for a walk with the dog and the inevitable happened. Slipped on a rock crossing and fell in. Was just thinking the other day that the more I cross the higher the odds of doing so. Hopefully out of the way for the next couple of hundred crossing. Also more "ammo" to feed FEMA if they ever get here.
Nothing special on the agenda to day. I will split a little wood for our mostly useless fireplace but that's about it
Wife is participating in a class in Asheville so it will be just me and the dog. Cat doesn't usually join us :)
Off to a second cup.

Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 5:30AM. Partly cloudy. High 58F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Yesterday was a conserve energy day.

Not sure what will happen today, but probably not much.

The depinning tools showed up yesterday, so I might get the video rearview mirror in the van fixed. But that could blossom into getting the 3 phase converter set up in the garage so the lathe, mill, and big sander work again, all so I can make a depinning tool that works if the store bought ones don't.

Or maybe I'll go help my buddy walk the dog, but only if they're up for it. The new heart meds have really knocked the winds out of the sails. And there's also shoulder pain where the stent mated up to that artery.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Good morning! 41˚F, the cold front has arrived N winds to 19 mph, full sun might bring the afternoon temps to the mid 50s then at midnight a cold advisory starts and windchills in 10˚ to 20˚ range. The pool bots are hard at it this morning getting the pool clean for the cold weather. I will-re wrap all plants again this afternoon. Did the store runs yesterday. May snow Mon-Tue.

Wed the temp drops into the teens.

My cousins estate been in probate over 5 yrs now. Everything sold, new owners tore down everything. Not a dime has been disbursed to the heirs. Crooked judge and lawyers.
Are the judge and lawyer the executors of the estate?

Everything went smoothly with my mom's estate the Lawyer and CPA were very reasonable and helpful. Finished it up in 15 months and it was pretty complicated. I just plugged away at it a little each day.

Court appointed executor that’s trying to suck every dime they can from the estate. Same thing happened with my great aunts estate a few years ago.
No reason for this to be drawn out so long.

Sorry to hear that.

My finals are due in April. But I have other parties that are dragging stuff out.

The lawyers are the only ones making out. IMHO, there should be more limits and time allowances than what is currently in place. I just had an ask for a paper or information from - 1974. LOL. You read that right. 1974. WTH.

Unfortunate, I am not a resident of the state, so I imagine whatever I say gets the bin in the corner.

Yeah, I had a court/divorce piece done. Lawyer demanded $5K down. Went easier than we thought. Had about 1.5K after settlement. Lawyer continued to bill me MONTHLY charging about $150 a month for billing me. Told me to hire a lawyer if I wanted any money back.

Good Morning
33° and dreary looking, high of 40 and rain this afternoon. Then the temps take a deep dive, and we get snow, somewhere between a dusting and a foot depending on who you listen to. I think it will definitely be a plowable event for us though.

Yesterday was a productive day in the shop, I wrestled the 3/4” stock into the band saw and cut the skids out of it. A 42” long piece was much nicer to move around. I used the magnetic drill to put the bolt holes in the mounting brackets.
Got them all welded up and ready to go on the snow pusher, it will likely be pushing snow tomorrow at the airport in Quakertown.

It amazes me that the 3/4” thick skids wore completely through, I guess they rubbed a lot of blacktop, but I would think that the snow would provide some lubrication.

Cleaned up all the mess I created, and put everything away, I’m very happy with the new MIG welder, took a little fiddling with settings to get it to run like I wanted, but it did a great job, and has gobs of power. I was running about 180 amps out of 285 available.

Cleaned out the fireplace and loaded it up for the next fire. Converted the classroom back into a music room, the boys showed up and we used it. Zoe was waiting for me at the door when I walked back to the old folks home. We went for a quick walk and called it a night.

Today will be back in the shop for some lathe work, need to make a run to the woodshed with the carryall to lay in a good supply of firewood in case the snow cover lingers.

Looking forward to seeing Drew and his new chariot around lunch time. We have been invited to dinner next door, our first meal in the house since we moved to old folks home. Other than that, we’ll see what pops up.

Have you ever tried some of the poly shoes for snow removal?

Morning all, 36 going to 42 and cloudy, rain later.
Got pear tree trimmed. Removed some low branches from some poplars since I had pole saw out.
Took small gas blower out and cleared driveway so melt wouldn't become ice last night.

Snow tools and tractor are all ready for tomorrow. Now saying 4" from 5" earlier, so who knows.

Will try to take dog for a walk somewhere, both of us tired of shared road and lawn is too mushy to do much in the back area.

Scotty feel better.

Happy, no trying to walk on water.

Drew - hope all works out well with the truck.

Be well,

Lower field snow almost gone, ready for a recharge.

Morning all;
I have run studded snows on all my vehicles with two exceptions.
The years I lived in west Texas and even then I had them for my work truck as I often got sent New Mexico and Wyoming in the winter, so all mounted and read to go. Then I year back here I didn't put them on one vehicle as I had three on the road and said I just won't drive that one if it's bad out, well heck the kids has something one night and even with new snow on the driveway took that awd mini van out. Yep I saved $500 in tires and stuffed the mini-van into a tree 2/3's of the way down my driveway, all season tires and Chrysler ABS equals no brakes going downhill on wet snow.

Been a pleasant morning temp wish woke up to 26F at 5 and up to 36F and windy today, supposedly a bit of rain then snow tomorrow we will see how much it ices up in the stormy weather.
Predicted high of 40F today then lows next week getting into the negatives F a few nights.

Waiting now for a fellow to show up about a set of tires and wheels I had on my wifes Jeep Compass (studded snows) He has quite a drive about 2 1/2 hours from Burlington Vt. That should be the last of my surplus tires and rims. I haven't checked in the over head of one building so could have more yet.

Seems like snow and cold for much of the east coast this coming week.

All stay safe and warm

I was offered that "discount" too. Most modern phones now days know how fast you're going as well as your stopping patterns and acceleration. It's like having your insurance agent with you in the front seat. The insurance companies want to tap into that info to see how you drive. Can be good or it can be bad. I don't like it.
Neither do I.

I keep my license clean for a reason. lower insurance is one of them, the other one was that I wouldn't have to do a road test for the 'A' that after the end of this month I won't have anymore. I will still do it for the insurance premiums though.
L4N my Tempest weather station has a link to all other Tempest weather stations that want to share their info. This is the one in Ontario closest to you, I think. It is reporting in C˚.
I think you can change it over to F on your end. I'm not sure, though.

VE3HMS is the closest one. 6 miles south of me.
The one you quoted is 513 miles north (a 17 hour drive on good roads) of me and west of Moosenee, ON.

Lou, I have never run studded tires, but I am thinking about them for next winter.

That's why I strap my phone to the dog when he romps all through the woods or take with me for the Saturday night test and tune at the local drag strip.

66°F and no rain.

Good trip to town yesterday other than prices.
Decided to use the Eufy s340 as gate camera. Had to extend height of a fence post and and fabricate a pole mount. Not only an excellent view of the gates but with pan and tilt great 360° coverage. Took a look after dark and impressed with the B&W IR LED view. Would have preferred a cam triggered by gate controller but this is livable.

Back on the tractor this morning, continue mowing

LA friends back in town. Will be treating us to a homemade Persian dinner tonight.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
