Kioti has officially discontinued the NX Line - still worth buying?

Personally I would go with an NS.
The NX line had to many issues IMO.
Are the "issues" in the room with us now?

The NX series suffered from too cold of thermostats when first sold but so did all Teir IV machines which often clogged up the DPF and put them into a limp-home mode. The field solution was to put in warmer t-stat. I run a 180°F T-stat in my NX and the stock was a 160°F which in spring, fall and definitely winter is way, way, way too cold. Keep in mind that as a auto tech I replace standard car t-stats with warmer t-stats as well for our local climate.

The NX HST issue is a solenoid in the transmission. The later machines have a different design. My tractor being a very early model "jerks" as the solenoid goes batty until the trans-hydro fluid warms up and then works fine.

Other than that I've had one alternator go bad, but luckily, a larger alternator from a Mazda 1987 B2000 for $65 pops right in and works with the existing wiring harness.

I did shell the front axle center housing on my NX series, and the equivalent Bobcat to the NX interestingly uses a different front axle housing than Kioti's NX series. Personally, I think the front axle housing is too weak for the loader's rated breakout force. I have not looked at the difference between the NX and NS tractors, but the OP may want to chase on over to his/her Bobcat dealer and make comparisons, take photos, and circle back here with any questions.

Yes, we do. There is a "5 paw" Kioti dealer within 30 minutes - they say they are the biggest Kioti seller in the US. We also have Kubota, JD, Mahindra etc. close by.

I wish Kioti had made a 50hp gear-driven NS. They only make an NS5310 HST, no shuttle shift.

The dealer is pricing the NX5010 to move. Should I be worried if I get an NX in shuttle shift instead of HST?
All depends on your intended use. I prefer the hydraulic shuttle on my Kubota's as it totally eliminates the dry chutch and the HST still has a dry clutch. Got well over 6000 hours on both my Kubota's (each) and I've never had to adjust the wet packs ever. I use them hard all the time.

Gee, I love my wife and my dog but one thing I would never love is my tractors as they are machines as in not able to love me back...
They are for work and to make my life easier and that is it.

They get well fed (diesel fuel) and reqular maintenance and greasing and once in a while, a bath but thats it.

Don't love my pickup truck or my car either. Just machines to make my life easier.

I am fond of my wife's Suburban LTZ 4x4 because she drives and I can ride.....

They are the biggest Kioti dealer. Kioti even begged them to drop TYM because they compete so closely. During the troubles, Kioti couldn't keep up with demand, so they added TYM. It cut into Kioti sales once production picked back up.

The good news is they are unlikely to ever drop Kioti and Kioti owes them, so they likely have good luck with parts and inventory.

Eric, Did you ever fix the solenoid in your HST? My 2014 NX4510hst started acting weird about a year ago. It will drive at half speed then acts like is shifts in 2nd gear. From then it works fine. There is no bucking.

Jim, the problem did not go away when I did my 800-hour hy-tran fluid change this summer. Moreover, since I've had a staph infection in my right knee for three months so far, and the solenoid problem goes away once the hy-tran fluid warms up, I have not been too concerned about fixing that problem.

I also have not pursued further diagnosing the no-start condition using the key (I must key on, and then manually jump the starter to start my tractor) because to get at the safety module, I need to pull the seat and pop off the right-hand bulkhead—none of which I can do in my current crippled-up condition.

I also found that changing the hydro oil and filter didn't fix the problem either. Mine is sluggish, when cold, for about 100 yards. I just take it easy on it in low or medium range. Then all of a sudden it fixes itself.

I also had that starting issue. The plug on the back of the ignition was not fully seated. I think that I posted about this online here. It drove me carzy. I have my seat switch jumped so that I can start my tractor at anytime. The HST lever switch and brake lever switch are still hooked up so that it cannot be started in gear.

Good luck with your knee issues. Been there done that with 3 knee surgeries in 2020 and 2021 for both knees. My left one is now Titanium.

I've already looked at all electrical connections apart from the safety module itself, starting with the ignition switch this past summer.

Knee-wise, I do not have a replacement knee, but I got a staph from a "minimally invasive" knee operation, and I'm now looking at a second operation as an attempt to clear out the staph next week, along with a hospital stay and a pic line for antibiotics to treat any type of bacteria found from cultures taken from this second attempt.
