1972 Mitsubishi R2500 oil canister converted to spin type filter..

Has anyone ever tried converting a Mitsubishi R2500 canister filter, to a spin-on type filter? I can't find any replacement cartridges anymore. I tried looking on Amazon and Ebay for a canister conversion kit for a Mitsubishi R2500, but only found ones for Ford tractors.

I have been re-using the same two cartridges since 1972. Soaking them in hot/soapy water overnight and then flushing them out with my compressor helps a little to keep them going, but for how long....

Any ideas or help?

The R2000 was a very early model.

Do you have the p/n's for these filters? It's possible someone might know of a source.

Could you share some images of the filters too. It's possible there are crosses to Kubota, Yanmar and most likely Iseki.

A long time ago many auto oil filters were cartridges, then "everybody" went to spin on. Some have gone back to cartridge like my 2022 Chrysler. Take your filter to your local NAPA dealer to see if something current uses that size.
