Sorry to hear the saga that you are going through! However, as you say, Frderick's seems to be really trying to make it right.

All the best, Peter

The Ym2500 from a Fredrick's supplied dealer. It was pretty much trouble free, The owners was retired Catholic priests. Even after I had to quit using it and the only problem that I was informed of was a small Hyd. leak at the pump. I believe the 3point lock was closed and not knowing tried to lift the 3 point. Tightened it up and it quit leaking. You don't hear very many if any complaints on the tractors. If I had to start looking for another YM series Yanmar no doubt I would be talking to them.

I was using the TractorByNet app on my phone. I deleted it and was going to download it again, but can’t find it in the App Store. Apparently there is no TractorByNet app anymore.
I believe the boss deleted it simply because the 'Tap-A-Talk app is garbage and posting via a cell phone sucks on any forum anyway. Get yourself a laptop or desktop and post there using a bona-fide web address.

I strongly suspect that most of the misspelled words in posts on here and elsewhere are attributable to cell phone texting...

Here's an old thread describing the air filter that is unique to YM2500 and very few other tractors.

This just came up on the Filter thread! YM2500 Air Filter from the same poster

The JD. 850 is the same motor as the YM2500. Refurbished YM2500 from Fredrick's Yrs. ago. I knew this at the beginning of this Thread. Yanmar USA. is in Ga. only a few miles from me. Daily Posts

If I bought another YM Series Yanmar, I would not have a problem going back to Fredricks. They stand behind what they sell.
I would, however, look it over very good.

I’ve talked to Tom Fredricks 1 time at the beginning of all this, and haven’t had to call him again.
Danny Speakman, Stephen Fredricks, and Rob Fredricks has handled everything. Mainly Danny. He’s gotten with Stephen multiple times. To my knowledge, I’ve never talked to Stephen.

I too would go back for another machine. I do like the YM3810, the bigger sibling of the YM2310. Or the YM2820 with all the loaded goodies and it's very closely related to the domestic machines with the 3T84 engine.

Down the rural road I'm on there is a EX3200 possibly going up for sale this summer. I would still keep the YM2610 and pass it down to kids.

63 2000 48Hp. FEL.. Gas I keep for cold weather. Old as I am to!!. Now I don't have to go through the PITA cold start the Yanmar! My lawn mower and 90% of it's use is warm weather. Even in the Spring months It's slow starting. Been through a couple starter repair's already. This last one has lasted since I had to send it to a Elec. repair shop. They mentioned how much wear was on it and somebody was in it. Which I told them it was me. They was impressed!! Nothing left of the Brushes Etc..
The Ym2000 replaced a Craftsman GT. Rated the same Eng. HP.. It wasn't repairable in a few yrs. Mower deck,Steering Etc..
the YM2000 20 PTO. HP. is Pretty much all it can do and why I left it Org. ASIS. not worth much now a days. I new what it was at the dealer. Had to explain to them My mother was @ the Actual roll over when it happened. The Kids Bus Driver. Personal friends with the mother. So new all about it and what actually really did happen!!
Still, It's a rice patty tractor so tilling mud not asking much of it and about the same with a FM..
JD. 5103 was Diesel another reason I went gas and FEL.. The Normal cold weather problems. 51 Hp. Eng.. FEL..
I was paid to operate it Which I was the only one that used it also.
Keep up with carey's yard!!

***UPDATE 05-07-2025 Wednesday***

Another day and all I can do now is laugh. It honestly doesn’t really even bother me anymore! 😂

The air cleaner housing and seal collar arrived this evening from Fredricks/FedEx. It looked excellent and fit perfect. Zero complaints there and I’m thankful.

I decided to start the engine after I installed the air cleaner housing.
After about a minute, there was a lot of black smoke and I didn’t know where it was coming from.

The fan belt broke because the Alternator froze up! 😂

I’ll be calling Fredricks once again in the morning. I’m sure they will take care of it.
I’d like to have this one rebuilt at a local shop not far from my house because it’d be easier and I know exactly how to wire it back up.

Deere 850 is the same Water pump. I believe the 950 is also but 850 for sure. 60.00$ Online. Pretty sure Your under warranty so I'm not even going there! Not much to replacement. Fredrick's Warranty is Parts. Perfect example why I went back to the same dealer for the YM2500 considering who actually owned that one. I stayed away from refurbished and went Org.. Same dealer my YM2000 came from. Kind of normal on replacement parts. Parts don't seem to last very long. Not all the time but Some don't but yet some last forever. MHO. aftermarket anything I'm lucky they make warranty. Or seem to have problems as soon as the Warranty period expires. I've always said that. Father was the dealer Rep. for Ford Credit. I'm pretty well familiar with parts and Serv...

UPDATE 05-09-2025 Friday

The bad news is I can’t find the new exact “Mitsubishi Japan” alternator anywhere online, or at O’Reilly’s, that Bret posted.

The good news is Danny at Fredricks emailed me back yesterday morning early, and sent out another alternator and belt. I’m not sure if it’s new, used, or remanned. According to FedEx, they will be here this Saturday (tomorrow).

I got the correct air filter and air cleaner installed yesterday. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the 2 seals that stick to the inner side and outer side of the air filter from Brand M Parts in Texas!!

Look at this fine electrical specimen that arrived today!
Alternator AL-1235 from Fredricks Equipment in Hartselle, Alabama. This alternator fits the YM2500, YM2610, and many other models.

***UPDATE 05-14-2025 WEDNESDAY***

The local repair shop, (Mobiltech, LLC in Denham Springs, LA) informed me yesterday that the new timing cover has been installed and the tractor is ready to be picked up.

Understandably, I can’t pickup the tractor until they receive the check from Fredricks.

What 4 mounting studs are you referring to?

About the only thing that on the Timing Gear cover is 4 studs that mounts the oil pump? . Heli coil bent bolts come to mind? Just wondering what happened to it?

I’m sorry, I guess I forgot to post about the timing cover. I’ve been trying to keep updates about my experience with this tractor on 3 different websites.

The timing cover had a hairline crack coming from one of the bolt holes where the tachometer housing mounts and it was causing oil to leak.

Fredricks sent me another timing cover, free of charge. They also paid a local repair shop the labor cost to replace the timing cover.
Great customer service from both Fredricks and Mobiltech (my local repair shop).
