Tide washing powders. Good as it gets. Scrub it with an old broom
Agree. Go to Dollar General a get a gallon of purple power apply the tide washing powder and then moisten good with the purple power and let sit or stand then scrub with a bristle brush then clean the mess up. Be careful around painted surfaces with the Purple Power it will dull, spot or remove some paints.

Well if it makes you feel any better, when I had my brand new VW for the wife, took it to the dealer I bought from for an oil change and they put the hoist through the floor. Went through plastic belly pan and the metal floor. Only the carpet never ripped through.
They then blamed my wife saying she ran something over. They nor VW did ever come good for it. Cost me $1100 at a body shop.
My friend bought a new Dodge Ram crew cab with the 8' box.
Long beast and a pain in the a-s to park.
When he bought it he had a deal where he got free oil changes for the life of the original warranty.
The kid at the dealership who brought it into the shop made too sharp a turn and creased the box from front to back on the post outside that protects the door frames of the building.
After much yelling and screaming and legal threats he got a new box.
I'm not sure they'd be any better but he drives a Ford now. He gets a new truck every 2-3 years and makes sure to show the Dodge dealer principal each sale they lost.

The good part about my story is that it happened outside. I was about 17-18 years old. We were repairing a backhoe transmission. The oil looked like YooHoo. We had drained the oil into a 50 gallon drum that was cut down to maybe 8" high. As I was carrying it to dump it, the metal container which was pretty greasy from prior use slipped out of my hands. When it hit the ground, the oil drenched me! We cut some slots for your hands into the drum after that.

I couldnt imagine buying a new truck every 2 to 3 years anymore.

Back in the 1990’s, ford had a love it or leave it 2 year lease program. I did that thru 3 separate lease periods. It was nice to have a new truck before the tires wore out, and it was $0 out the door. Nice write off at the time for my company truck. Hard part was keeping milage down.

Those days are long gone. My last company truck was sold at 30 years old and 350k miles. I bought it new. My newest company truck is a 2020 F150. Bought it off of a lease. Wont buy a new truck for a work rig any more. Too dang expensive.

I still remember my 1975 F350 i bought used in 1977 for under $5,000. Back then trucks were cheap, and meant for work. But i do love the comforts of my newest rig.

I went to change the oil on my wife’s Genesis. It holds 9 quarts so I got my large plastic pan which holds 15+ quarts. Got the car up on the ramps, put the pan under and pulled the plug. All is well so far.

I crawl back under to put the plug back in after10 minutes or so and see about a quart of oil under the pan. Oh crap! THERE IS A CRACK IN THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN.

I go and get a piece of cardboard to slip under the pan so I don’t spread the oil out more than already done. Slide the pan out on the cardboard and realize there is no way to carry the pan with 8 quarts of oil plus hold the cardboard under it outside to the waste can.

OK, I’ll bring the waste can in, put it on the cardboard and pour the oil in.

Put the funnel in the can and start pouring. I get about half the oil in the can and THE FUNNEL FALLS OUT with about a half a quart of oil in it. Hits the floor and splashes oil 10’ in every direction. Oh crap 2!

I go to get the oil dry and find that I don’t have any, just have floor sweeping compound. I spread that around and it helps a little but not like oil dry.

Of course anything within 10’ is splashed with oil and will need to be cleaned separately.

Shoulda stood in bed this morning.

That is what is referred to as a normal DIY oil change.
FYI, do yourself a favor, get a metal drain pan, I refuse to use plastic pans, they are an invitation to spills.

I have both, and honestly, my favorite is a double-walled plastic with spout and vent:

Of course, we're all working under different conditions. I like this one, because it's very easy to pour the used oil back into the 5-quart bottles I buy it in, or into the 5 gallon gas can I also use for used oil.

I dump my oil into a cut-off 55 gallon drum that drains into a 55 gallon drum. I have a galvanized drain pan that holds 2 or 3 gallons, that I've had for ~30 years or so that I use for drain oil and gear lube.

I have several plastic drain pans that work ok. You need to be careful not to spill. From those the oil gets drained into an IBC tote. When that's full I coordinate with numerous neighbours and a large truck come out and empty's all the used oil containers in the neighborhood. He'll come for 2-3000 liters. The last time he was out he had to come twice. His truck doesn't hold 21000 liters.
