Don’t forget that sunscreen.

My dad had half his face and ears trimmed off while he was 55 to 95yo. I hope to not do that.

He had half his face and ears trimmed off?

Agreed. I still sometimes need some on my nose or hands. I have a hat with a neck protector, but it's not always practical.

I also avoid the worst of the day and limit the time I'm in it. Most summer days I'm in before 10a. The trade-off is insects...so I have to put on different chemicals.

This is one of the things I like about cabbed tractors. They don’t eliminate sun exposure, but they greatly reduce it.

After I came back from Hawaii 3 weeks ago with the worst sunburn I ever had (fell asleep in afternoon sun for 4 hours) I learned my lesson. Those blisters were painful and gross.

This is a timely thread.
This afternoon I will get another Squamous Cell Carcinoma cut out of my back. I have had many of them removed and a few Basal Cell Carcinoma.

And just for fun I had dozens and dozens of Seborrheic Keratosis (pre-cancerous lumps) frozen.

And just to keep me looking pretty I've had 3 Mohs surgeries.

So, yeah, use sunscreen and lots of it. Especially if you are a redhead with freckles.
I’m a 41 year old red head and need to get some more pre cancerous lesions burned off my arms and hands. So far, I’ve had 1 Squamous Cell Carcinoma in SITU burned off my left forearm.
When I get done making this post, I’m gonna schedule an appointment online with my dermatologist. I’ve been putting it off and putting it off. There’s absolutely no sense in that.
THANK YOU!

Both Grandfather and Father died from Leukemia at ages 72-73

Both had Melanoma in their mid 60’s…

Both were out in the sun year round working but always covered up except face/head exposed.

20 years ago this month I was urged to have a spot on my face checked and it came back negative… had it checked twice more and negative…. same area as my father…

Within 24 hours 2 doctors I work with said have it checked again…

This time confirmed and offered Mohs surgery but then switched to staged surgery…

Face bandaged right now with incisions about the area of 3 quarters.

Part of me wonders if family history repeating itself?
Keep at it. My father in-law had cancer on his nose. Every few years they'd take another divot out. He lived to 93. Very active guy. His brain wore out before his nose. ;)

In order to call something or someone my friend I need to trust it, when a product show ingredient that are deem ''safe in small quantity'' such as fragrance and Oxybenzone / Benzophenone -3 you won't convince me that is safe and if you add a lack of quality control and loose regulation on top of that I am skeptical to say the least... plus sun screen should be like PPE which is the last line of defense.
