They do that here. The property tax in my county is among the cheapest in the nation but I did have to pay like $200 for personal property. You’re supposed to fill out a form of everything I own but I never do. They forced assessed value at like $50,000 and the $200 tax was for that much.

Probably not the best idea admitting to tax fraud on the internet.
