Wood splitter Hydraulic pump quit

Yeah, All I used back in the day was Haldex Barns. They were bullet proof then. Anytime you can get 40 years out of something like a hydraulic pump they were doing something right. It's hard to find anyone that carries them anymore. I used to get them from Agri Supply, but they started pushing the cheaper stuff. I think Northern Hydraulics still carries them though.
Haldex Barnes is now Concentric Inc. I believe they still make splitter pumps

Sounds like your pump to motor alignment may be off..or the coupler is putting pressure on the pump some how.

I've looked at it several times and although I built the bracket mount everything looks lined up. There is a slight gap between each piece of the coupler and when it's turning there was no wobble. Normally if something isn't aligned the rubber insert will show signs of wear on one side or another, but it looks like it did when I first put it on. I'm not saying that something may not be off, I just can't see it. I'll know more tomorrow. My new pump got here yesterday, and I went on and bought a new bracket and a new Love Joy coupler, they should be here today.

Yeah, I saw a concentric pump on E-bay the other day and I had heard they were the same. I probably would have went that route, but I had already bought the one I got from Surplus City

When I built mine I believe I used a straight edge to align the shafts. Then double checked, tack welded things, checked again, welded more and checked again. Then used the coupler to check again. I used bed frame angle iron to make mine about 10yrs ago.
