Top & Tilt on a Kubota MX5400

I recently purchased a used MX5400 that has 2 factory rear remotes already installed. I ordered a T&T kit from Summit Hydraulics, including cylinders, hoses, coupler etc. I am NOT an experienced mechanic and am trying to install the system on my new to me MX. The Kubota install has couplers buried in cast housings. I'm attaching pictures of the Kubota remotes as well as the male "poppet" fitting that Summit supplied.

My question: Does the hose simply "push" into the female receiving remote? No "spring loaded" collar like on a front 3rd function quick coupler?

Yeah, that's how mine on my L5030 work, just push them in, to unhook ... Just tug on them!

Kike Shawn says - push them in and you will hear and feel them lock. Mine are the same and some times to get them loose it takes more than what I would call a tug. More like a mighty hard and quick yank for mine. I keep thinking this should be easier - maybe there is a trick I don't know after doing this for 25 years ??

They are breakaway connectors that are designed to just pull out if you forget to disconnect them or an implement gets away from you. Just push in and pull out.
Yes, they can get ornery at times and require some effort to disconnect. The trick is to keep them clean and lubed. It's also important to use the plugs & hose end caps when not in use.

I'm curious as to what the cylinder strokes are that Summit built these with as well as the cylinder and rod diameters?

Kind of threw me for loop when I got my MX tractor. First I ever saw of pull off connectors. But they work great, enjoy the new tractor.

Just an FYI that might help somebody. I was curious as to why I have trouble with the disconnect even though I have always adhered to bdhsfz6's suggestions. I had time to experiment today. Most of my hoses have a 90* fitting at the QD. So it is natural for me to grab it like a pistol grip - gives me a strong grip. BUT, when I yank it I tend to put an upward torque on the QD because of the pistol grip. If I concentrate on pulling straight out things work like they should. I just never noticed what I was doing.

OP here . . . thanks to all who answered and provided information. I finished up the installation on the MX and the T&T works great. I was simply a little too timid pushing the couplers in. Everyone's advice was spot on.

On a different note, the MX5400 is an incredible upgrade over my L3301. My ground is hilly and has ruts. The larger wheels on the MX and the wider stance of the rear has added a significant amount of stability and I feel much safer on the machine.

Yep, the hose just pushes straight into the female remote. No spring collar like the front 3rd function. You’ll feel it click once it’s fully seated.
