Loader How to increase loader lift capacity

I know there is a way to do this, but I can't find the thread on this topic: How can I increase lift power on my b2320. I love the tractor, but the loader is really disappointing. I heard of a way to fix this by adding, or removing shims/ washers.... Just not sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Most of the 'fixes' I have seen on tractors is to add shims to increase the hyd pressure.... You raise the hyd pressure and then can lift more..... Not that I would recommend it... Your FEL and hyd system are designed with a little safety wiggle room... don't know if I would want to tempt fate...

Yes I wouldn't mind increasing mine too, with the backhoe on the back for ballast I think I have plenty of counterweight.

I'm sure there is a margin in the design of the FEL and tractor for how much it can lift. I'd be more concerned about the front axle than the loader frame though. Ballast behind the rear axle would be more critical than ever, not just to hold it on the ground, but to counterbalance the FEL and all of it's contents. The front axle is more likely a much more expensive repair than the FEL.

I would start by checking the hydraulic releif pressure for the FEL. I know that my L4400 was several hundred pounds low on the releif. I set the pressure to spec by adding shims to the releif valve. It made a remarkable difference. go to the Kubota parts site and look up your tractor and you can see the blow up of the loader valve. The loader valve shows the shims that you add or take out to adjust your pressure.

Here is a kit from BXpanded Hydraulic Pressure Testers that includes instructions on how to test your pressure first. Your pressure may be below spec like mine was.

Probably not the easy answer you're looking for, but can the LA364 that the B2620 and B2920 use fit that tractor? It's a bit beefier and I thought the hydro pumps were the same between the models, so it must have different cylinders to get the capacity up.

I shimmed my Deere 790 and was pleased with the results. Remember, shimming increases system pressure, so you get a boost on the 3PH as well,

That said, before you shim, make sure you know exactly how to do it!! Although Deere uses shims to increase the pressure relief valve pressure, that doesn't mean one puts shims on a Kubota (or any other brand).
This would be a good question for your local dealer's service technicians, just as a matter of conversation.

I looked at the parts diagram of the loader for the B2320 and the pressure for this loader is adjusted with shims.:thumbsup:

As stated before checking the pressure before hand is a must. Chances are it is real close to spec in which case I would not be afraid to boost system pressure by a few hundred lbs. If it is below spec then you may gain quite a bit. I think the usual for Kubota is about 40psi boost for every .1mm shim.
