Damaged block installing block heater L5240

All is still well. Never did fix the front crank seal. leaks about a quart every 6 months. Close to 500 hours since the open heart surgery. Getting ready to do front axle seals on both sides and new front tires soon. One thing that did change after the rebuild... When cold starting below...

Added another Kubota to the family.

My father finally threw in the towel on one of the IH tractors that was my grandfathers. The old 300 utility has quit on him time and time again, despite the attention he has paid it. He told me that if he wants or needs to use a tractor, it should start every time, no questions asked. We'll...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Did a little cutting today ourselves. It was hot, but not too bad in the shade. First time since I got the L5240 that we used both tractors. Although I do not like to cut firewood in the summer (especially in the afternoon), it will be great to have it done before hunting season.

Damaged block installing block heater L5240

I just added the last two quarts of oil. All that is left is to reinstall the driveshaft. I am still in disbelief that it is done. It definitely took a huge step forward since joining the two halves together last Tuesday.

Help with output shaft seal replacement

For those who have done it, does the mid case need to be removed, or does the seal go in the area where the clutch throwout bearing is located?

Damaged block installing block heater L5240

I had two things to take care of tonight. 1). Install a block heater. 2) replace the rubber suction hose that connects to the hydraulic pump. It's cracked and sucking air, causing power steering problems. Instructions on the block heater call for removing the hydraulic pump to access the...

Chains  L5240 Ring chains on R4 tires.. Opinions?

Tractor is a Kubota L5240. I have at least 5" of clearance between the top of the tire and the fender, and 1 1/2" between the side of the tire and the inner fender. A quick check tonight with a ruler tells me that I can swap the rims side to side and get 3" more clearance to the inner fender...

New to me L5240. Front axle pinion seal leak.

I picked up a 2007 L5240 last Thursday after years of wanting a 2nd, larger tractor, 800 hrs on the meter. Dual rear remotes, LA854 loader with 72" round back bucket with a set of remotes up front. Also a canopy. Sure is comfortable compared to my L3400. Anyways, I picked up oil and a...

    L3400 brake noise

While using the tractor to load logs on my sawmill today, I noticed a noise from the brakes. I flipped the lever that locks the pedals together up so they would act independently of one another. It seemed to make the noise when I stepped on the left pedal. I checked underneath to make sure I...

    Demountable trailer wheel/tire

I have a factory built equipment trailer with dexter 6000lb axles on it. It has the mobile home type wheels on it, but the are real deal, not from a mobile home. The brake flanges are bolted on. I am replacing the two older tires with new 8-14.5 tires meant for equipment trailers, but I want...

    Recommendation for plow truck tires.

I need a suggestion for new tires for my 2005 Silverado 2500HD. I rarely use this truck. It has the original tires on it with only 17,000 miles on the odometer. The stock tires have plenty of highway life left on them, but winter driving is terrible. I have a very steep driveway, and I have...

    BH80X Leakdown?

I got my BH80X last Friday. I have noticed that if I shut the tractor off for a few hours with the BH up, that it will drop a couple of inches by the time I return. The outriggers also drop a little bit overnight. I always lower the hoe when I park it for the night with the bucket resting on...

    Backhoe  New Woods BH80X today..

At an Idle, I can do a lot. At 1500RPM's this thing has more power than I expected. I was worried that I didn't have the GPM's to run it to it's full potential, but I was wrong. I spent 2 hours getting used to it tonight. In that time, I went from bumbling around to actually controlling it.

    Will a BH77 fit an LA463/L3400?

I've seen threads here saying that the LA463 will fit the new L3200/3800, but are the new backhoes also interchangeable with the older loader.
