My farm grass gets so thick I took side chute completely off both my 72 SD decks as soon as I got them home & unloaded them. We’ve had an awful wet summer here in North Georgia. Thankfully no flooding tho like so many other areas.

I love the ZD1511 4cyl Turbo. it doesn’t bog near as much as my old ZD1211 on my hills & thick grass. I wish it had more power but it’s sufficient for now until somebody makes a bigger one

I’d mowed for 20yrs with a 6 7 & 9’ Rear Finishing Mowers behind my tractors & none of them WindRowed like this. It’s an even spray pattern with their design & no wide rear tires. I’d never buy another RD Zero mower for my application here. Lesson learned.

1-1/8” diameter sounds right on a big heavy implement. true the 3/4” will work but why skimp & risk it breaking.

Fuel level would be 1/2 to 3/4 full in both tanks. the last time this happened during the smoking I heard a light clattering from engine : like valve clatter or spark knock in a gas burner from poor fuel. Engine rpm also dropped ….. idk weird.

You want proper size pin when your implements hitch swivels & pivots both directions

Pin in pic is too small. I broke a 1” pin & stepped up to a 1-1/8” diameter pin. i can’t stand loose or a sloppy fit.

As mentioned : it’s probably the ignition key switch.

My 4720 open station I sold did this same thing. best I remember it was a hex shaped filter about 3” long I washed the contamination from & fixed the issue.

The stock ZD1211 blades has less blow-out from under front of deck & cuts as good as G6 Gator Mulching Blades or the older Pro Deck blades. You have to have the blade hub adaptors machined down to accept the smaller 1-1/8” center hole older pro deck blades As their are no aftermarket blades...

This 4wd would be Awesome on my hills & banks. I’m not sure on these tiny frt deck tires hitting stump holes & rough ground here on my farm.

I found a new F3990 72” SD BUT I’m afraid the deck running on the ground would take too much abuse here on my rough farm ground. the frt deck tires are too small imo the ZD deck hangs from the frame letting the mower itself take the abuse from rough ground.

Well low air in seat wasn’t the intermittently dying problem yesterday . it kept dying today from a seat switch malfunction & eventually wouldn’t spin over to restart. I temporarily bypassed the seat switch to mow all afternoon :mad:

I had this issue with my 5093E tractor. a new Electrical Power Reverser Switch assy fixed my problem. the brass contacts inside get worn & will not make the electrical connection. very frustrating

Kubota called today saying my 2018 ZD1511 needed a newer programming to set parameters broader in the PCM like the later models so that it didn’t require parked regens. I hope this fixes it. I’ll know after they get it returned to me.

My ZD1211 72” RD was great. It windrowed a little bit & was slightly weak on my steep hills in tall grass but this ZD1511 72” SD takes it to a Whole New Level here mowing my 15+- acres 💪 I couldn’t be more happier BUT I wished Kubota offered a 84” deck with it :cry:

Nah use it much as needed. it sure is handy & fast. I never completely stop. you'll love the machine. the ZD has a real transmission & no silly pumps at the wheels + a shaft driven deck 💪 Fast blade tip speed The pivoting front axle is a nice feature for uneven ground & rides better

I liked the G6 Gator blades other than the mentioned blow out from under front side of deck mowing at 3.5” They cut clippings finer but doesn’t seem to blow the clippings out SD Deck as well as the high lift winged blades imo

I unbolted, cut & removed the section of baffle in front of the right blade on my 72 SD Deck so that clippings would have the full width of side chute to exit the deck. heavy clippings has a much wider spray pattern now.

I saw a guy on YouTube take the baffle out of the front of his ACS deck to not restrict clippings from left blade being slung out. has anybody did this ?

I’d think the F deck running on really rough ground at speed wouldn’t take heavy abuse as well as a deck hanging from a mower frame. Not knocking either one but the small wheels on F deck would get beat up pretty bad here on my farm ground

While “In E-PTO” & engaged : the motor won’t rev past about 1850rpm im sure you know this tho. it’s designed so you can’t over-Rev implements on these newer JD with electric throttles

They were expensive but I changed both my E’s over to the adjustable links with pins & couldn’t be happier. those threaded ones like yours are very aggravating & will not turn by hand or wrench when old or neglected

I started out with a 72” Land Pride, then a 84” Bush Hog then a 110” Befco RFM : all rear discharge. I mowed around 15 acres at 4” height. I liked the BH RDTH84 the best. This Woods 90” would be an ideal size. I sold all three & went with a 72” Zero.

The inside weights are 150lbs each on 5093E. I ran 2 stacked together on the 5085E I sold. Only one would fit inside the 5115M The outside weights on 5101E are 350lbs each but I had to turn wheel centers around to accept them & run 4” steel wheel spacers to keep my same width.

12.5/80-18 Fronts 28gals in each 19.5-24 Rears 80gals in each + 300lb weights in each rear wheel.

These pre emissions JD E series aren’t computer controlled. Thank goodness :LOL:

Extra weight is Alwaz good. I fluid filled both my rear wide tires on Kubota ZD1511 Zero mower for traction on my hills. I wouldn’t advise it with smaller zero’s having drive pumps at each wheel tho.

What HP tractor are we talking ? Keep in mind weight robs power on hills. a small tractor with dry clutch could get damaged IF it receives punishment or abuse. if your the only one using it & your easy on the clutch - you should be fine imo IF it’s a Hydro Trans just be easy on hills when...

I agree. I went to mow today & the dreaded horn blew demanding another dang 30+ minute parked regen I don’t get it. I mow at WOT for 3-6hrs EACH time I use it twice a week. my dealer thinks it’s a bad sensor .....

Kubota dealer told me today the ZD1511 machines had been discontinued :oops: First I’d heard of it. he said Kubota is working on a 40hp 3cyl to shoeHorn into a Zero.

JD didn’t have the $32 sensor in stock today. I’m going to order one. the Elc plug is tight, clean & not damaged.

Those 6k series E & D are not in the same League as the 6330 & M Series made in Mannheim. Check All of the Specs First. The 5085E & Bigger 5k series are Great with fluid AND weighted BUT the weight Kills HP on Hills pretty bad under 115hp. The 3cyl E has a dry clutch which MAY be ok...

JD 5115M PTO RPM Gauge Works Intermittently. Is this the black sensor on the right side of PTO output shaft ? Will I loose HyGard Fluid by removing this sensor ?

Dealer said parked regens on ZD1511 are necessary from time to time. That was the first one I’ve had & hope it’s the last. I’ll keep plenty of fuel in it from now on during my 2-5hrs mowing 2r3 days a week.

Any of you Kubota pilots know why a parked regen was necessary ? I’m thinking because my low fuel light was on ..... the manual says the light needs to be out.

This ground speed chart is at 2200rpm which in E-PTO your not running but 1500-1700 which would be even slower. Tire Size makes a huge difference too. I’m running the shorter R4 Tires 19.5-24 which are 49” Tall

This was 6-8” hi thick heavy grass mowed in a back & forth pattern with 72” RD deck @ 3” blade height from concrete floor. Clippings are still very visible but not concentrated into 3 separate windrows like before. In a few days when clippings turns brown is when it’s Ugly :(

My 5093E 5101E both takes the RE253518 Air Filter which looks IDENTICAL to the SU20768 in my Newer 5085E. WHAT is the Difference ? Different filtering qualities :confused: Napa 9275 replaces BOTH of these filters.

Just like title says ?? I know the 24F/12R is an option but it still doesn’t slow the tractor down in A range 1st gear like the creep option. Even the 16spd in a M series still isn’t any slower in A1 than a 12spd E in A1 gear.

The 3cyl JD 5k (5045-5075) series has much smaller axle than my 4cyl 5k series. Your right on the Kubota frt axle turning deep :thumbsup: I used his M7060 & LP RCF3696 today & kept disengaging the PTO resting my arm on fender as I have for many years :mad:

I took the gawdy Tall R1’s off today, Fluid Filled all Four New R4 take offs & installed them on my 5085E :D It’s so much lower geared, useable & takes gear smoother now for my applications.

I bought a new BH 2815 & Love it. I purchased a baffle kit & picked it up at the BH Factory in Selma AL as I’d always wanted to go there. The Batwing cuts fantastic. It cuts much finer clippings with the baffle kit bolted on.

Old Pic from before grass got green. I mow up & down this bank. You can see where I quit mowing on right side of Chicken Houses because it's way too steep for a Zero. I Bush Hog that part along with other fields once a month with 4wd Tractor & all 4 tires fluid filled.

Yes I have two piece wheels but the 350lb Lonestar weights only fits the Centers Domed OUT side of the part around the wheel bolts on 24" Rims. There's not enough room to run a 7" Thick Weight on my current inside.
