    That looks like an indirect injection engine with the pre chamber that contains the injector and glow plug. I bet something in there broke off and fell in.

    The only thing I can think of is a part of injector or glow plug. Without seeing the engine I’m not sure what else in the intake would cause this. You can tell something got in there and hammered away.

    I had one of those and liked it but it didn’t last very long. If you don’t burn a lot of wood it will last a long time. I burn maybe a couple of chords of wood a year and the grate burned through in the middle after a couple of years.

    I bought a JD about 6 years ago. I can’t imagine I’d buy one today when I see what people are paying for them now. It’s not just cuts though, a lot of things have just shot up due to inflation. The market will adjust eventually to what people are willing to pay.

    The problem with the VP style cans is the nozzle is just a tube sticking straight up. It’s a little awkward to get it in the fill hole and manhandle the jug. They make a cheap plastic device you can put on the plastic nozzle to put a bend in it, that helps.
