    What's wrong with Canadians?

Being in foodservice as long as I was, I've NEVER heard or seen a restaurant buying cheaper steaks for well done orders. It makes little sense to have to buy, store, and differentiate between a prime steak and a choice cut. It just isn't done. Ive never seen the initiation of a cook who has to...

Thanks for the video, pics and tips. I'll look for a mounting hole/braket again. I just found a 7308 loader (like I have) picture that shows the indicator rod. I'm sure I can create one using that picture. Thanks for the help.

    Seafoam for real?

With the proposed 15% Ethanol mix, the prez says will save us money. IF, the gas stations pass on the savings. AND, with 15%, milage will drop. Where are the savings in that? or is it a plot??? Assuming the additives will be more widely used by some...

    RANT New "safety" gas cans?

How are the vented fumes captured at gas stations? On my gas cans, minus the diesel can, I put a balled up plastic bag to keep dirt out, so I guess the fumes stay in as well. To me, a stopper of some sort would have been a better idea than those new style spouts.

It could very well be bell housing. Not familiar with tractor components yet. Here are some pics... One shows the drain plug on the other side of belly mower bracket. Hydraulic drain plug

While changing my engine oil and filter today, I saw what looked like a push in plug on the transission. It looked like cork, but was hard. Another roof ? How do I get lichens off roof?

I've used powdered bleach alternative, mix with hot water to disolve and spray on. Leave on, if heavy moss or lichen, use a push broom, andd reapply. Then hose off. Got to love developments in rural areas

And that is a great way to look at it, make sure it's necesary. But that poses another issue, who decides what is necesary, only people who lived their whole lives there, or do you allow "new" people a chance to speak up? Do you allow a spouse who may have come from another county or state a...

    Saving Money as Prices Increase

    How many are ENERGY Farming

We had 52 panels on our last home. 10.5k. they produced enough for all our electrical needs with electric heat. Plus a very small check at end of each year. Even produced some small amount of power with snow on them. Small snow and small power. Overcast days as well

    How many are ENERGY Farming

I've only seen private owed solar on Vineyard, but it's been years since I visited. On top of malls is a great idea. Along either changing them over to housing communities. Still room for restaurants and drug stores etc.

Martha's Vineyard has had windmills for years. There are more getting installed off the new England coast.

    Big Cars are killing Americans

I bought a new ranger because it fits me, my needs and my garage. I think I'd be hard pressed to fit a full size pickup in garage and be able to move around it. I always thought the ranger was a decent sized truck, until a Chevy 2500 parked next to me.

    Good morning!!!!

Looking to heat 775 sqft garage, but holding off until later this year to check all options. Need to insulate first anyway.

    Good morning!!!!

Woke up to 1 degree, bright and sunny. Already have the house smelling of coffee and bacon. Keeps the wife happy. Depending on who you listen to, Monday and Tuesday will bring negative temps plus wind chill...

Need some vapor barrier and insulation advice

Here is the sourse I used. Walk-Out Basement Wall Insulation Closed cell ridgid insulation IS the vapor barrier. Canned spray foam completes the seal. And he is a contractor from my neck of the woods, that and what I read was good enough for me.

    No Rotella T6

I just bought Mobil 1 TDT 5w40 (monthly special) 6 qts for $35. One gallon jug is $33. No brainer, I can open up quarts.... I saw the T6 at Advanced Auto, but it was $36 (I think) for a gallon.

Stupidly convinced I'd get a better deal

I guess my brain is a bit slow today. I'm on https://www.oilfilter-crossreference.com/convert/NEW-HOLLAND/84475542 and there isn't a big choice. If I choose the Fram, I get many different filters. Why dont they come up when I search The NH part number?

Scenery pictures, what does your world look like............

Great pics. They never look as beautiful as real life so the views must look spectacular. Here is my current situation in the NEK Vermont. I was zoning out on the whole sunset and barely got these.

    Good morning!!!!

We come from Tolland Ct. Great views of Willoughby Gap from our property, reason why my wife wanted this land. We already knew some neighbors, but everyone else we met have been warm and welcoming us "flatlanders".

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning, Woke up to 0* in the NEK if Vermont. Prepping for Christmas brunch and then dinner. Only the two of us this year. Just moved up here, not our 1st Christmas up here, but in our new home it is. Merry Christmas and happy holidays... Mike

    Vented propane heating stove

True for our heating system. But for a hwh it is drained to a condensate pump.

    Vented propane heating stove

That's the beauty of a heat pump hwh, the by product is it takes moisture out of the air.

Do you remember the first time that you drove in snow?

I think everyone needs to learn how to drive in snow before driving in snow. Like a large parking lot. Took my stepdaughter to learn how to drive, stop, control in snow icing conditions. I remember telling her to jam the brakes so she could learn to steer while braking. She thought she was...

    Vented propane heating stove

We currently are using heat pumps, no issues so far down to 0 degrees. Back up is electric radiant in basement. I'm looking to have a second option for basement, propane. 1200 sq/ft. Non vented, as we have a heat pump hwh which acts as a dehumidifier and ac in summer. I know what I need...

    Yard find

Thanks. I think I recall the former property owner telling me they were mid mount and specific to one brand tractor. Tomorrow is suppose to be above average temps. I will pull out and arrange for a better view. They are heavy. At least the main parts.. I'm not a farmer so I don't think I'd ever use.

    Yard find

We bought property in NEK Vermont and built our retirement home. It has a lot of history to it, I'm always finding old stuff. While moving a pile of metal roofing, I found these. While I don't have a use for it I'll keep around in case some one does. Any ideas on what it fits? Given directions...

Parts without loosing an arm or leg

Yeah. I need to bite the bullet and buy. After installing glow plugs timer, I took for a spin to check out possible damage from high winds last night. Water pump leaking pretty good now. With my luck, by the time I get a pump our warm spell will end and it'll be too cold to work with wet hands...

    TC29D glow plugs

Ended up paying 65 for a timer relay. Glow plug light and plugs themselves are now working, thanks to all whe helped me with diagnosis charts.

Parts without loosing an arm or leg

Thanks, I'm pretty sure the part number I need ends in 661. Is that an updated part number? And that's the confusing part of this. $36 for that water pump you linked, but to get on that looks identical but says fits tc29d, price jumps to over $100

Amazon's lowest price was $95. Ebay just as bad. I will look for clutch guy

Parts without loosing an arm or leg

I'm in need of a water pump for tc29D. Prices are ranging from $95 to $141. There was a $365, but I don't count that crook business... Some other tractors are more like $40. which seems about right for a water pump. I've been to messicks, and all vendors google search I could find online, but...

I bought a Yanmar filter kit for my SA324. Up graded before I could use. I paid $85+ for it. Willing to entertain offers/trades. I own a NH TC29D, I live in NEK Vermont. Tried to post picture, didn't work out. Wix 5199 Baldwin B1400 Baldwin PF981 Donaldson P821575

    TC29D glow plugs

OK, followed directions, light lit, and stayed lit. There is some blinking every couple of seconds. So, one issue is this timer. Saw online for about $65, so I'll look more today for a cheaper version. Thanks for all the help.

    TC29D glow plugs

Yes, I have a screenshot of that attachment you sent. Thanks. No jumper wires, have to fabricate one. Hoping it warms up some today. Seems weird that glow plug light comes on while cranking when there is a spot on ignition switch that SHOULD turn it on but doesn't. Would a low amp battery...

    TC29D glow plugs

OK, back on topic... Today, Tried the wiggle, slow turn, and just holding in GP position. NADA... So I tested ignition switch, no continuity from power to GP. Sprayed penetrating oil in ign switch and cycled many times to loosen up? and finally got continuity. Strange but true. I have a bank or...

Is there a down side to those oils? I think the hydraulics hold 8 gallons, so I'd like to know as much as I can before I try.

    TC29D glow plugs

Woke up to 10" of snow. Slow turn didn't work at 20*. I have yet to try the wiggle. I will also look at battery light for dimming. Are NH known for loud hydraulic whine when cold? Moat cold days it is loud, like an issue loud. As it warms it diminishes.

    TC29D glow plugs

I tried the slow turn, and I heard a relay cycle, but no light. Started much easier, but it was warmer. 35 degrees. A second time I did the slow key turn, the light came on dimly after about 5 seconds, and bright when I actually cranked. I will try again when temps drop. It seems to be the right...

    TC29D glow plugs

Is there a way to test if glow plugs working? On cold mornings, 20s, sometimes warmer, tractor has trouble starting. The glow plug light only goes on when cranking. Top link

Thanks. I tend to overthink things... so while laying in bed this morning, I was wondering if I measured correctly. I measured with arms level to ground, and measured at an angle from top link bracket to centerline of lower arms. Should I have measured straight back, parallel to lower arms?

    Top link

I've done lots of reading. Still unsure. Looking for a top link for brush hog, ballast box. I measured with side bars level, top link pin to centerline of side link level. I measured 27 inches. Do I need a top link that the middle of travel is 27 inches? New Holland TC29D
