JD clutch for the Gator is a known problem. My son has one and he sent his clutch to someone that advertises he rebuilds the clutch with his designed modification. Check the voltage from the chassis ground to the pos battery terminal you may have a bad fusible link. Did you check the main 30 amp fuse with an ohm meter? Did you check the main fuse for 12VDC on both sides of the fuse? Did you have no power before you swapped out the key or just dash light...

Switch has a start position with a high value fuse 50 amp or so or a fused link. You need to check the switch in the start position. OR you could have a bad or corroded battery connection enough power to show lights but not enough to turn the starter. I would check the battery first.
