If you’ve got a leak in one section, chances are more of them will soon appear. At least get the entire section replaced. If not, the whole thing, because the rest is probably not far behind.

I’d just get it loose with penetrating oil and movement, then put a few drops of engine oil on the pivots. A little dirt accumulation won’t hurt anything. Beats a seized up dry one any day.

Got the snowblower off, sprayed all the bare metal on it with FF. Cleaned the pto stub and greased it, and greased all the 3 point linkages. Put the loader on and the chipper. Ready for brush cleanup.

Hopefully this week I can get the blower and hitch off, get the loader back on, then put the 3 point chipper on. Haven’t chipped in a few years due to a hernia. Now that’s been fixed, I can do some much needed brush cleanup.

The paint is forming a barrier over the wood. If there are any cracks in it anywhere, water will get in and the paint film will hold that water in, speeding up the rotting.

My UPS shuts itself off sometimes when the well pump kicks on. This is on a 17kw stationary Generac. Especially if the dryer is running too. Not sure why the UPS doesn’t just cut the power and go to battery. The old UPS didn’t have this problem.

A contractor I know was working on an old house nearby. The guys opened up a wall and found a short barreled shotgun, brand new, in its box. It was from the time period when they were legal to buy. They turned it in to the police or atf, don’t remember which one.

Wd will work to help remove moisture and contamination from the trigger assembly (and the entire gun). Once the gun is working, I would then add air tool oil for lubricant. This isn’t my first rodeo. Been using nail guns since 1990 and have repaired quite a few.

Spray some wd40 in the air inlet and try it again. Most likely, something is stuck within the trigger assembly. Take that out first and clean it if the Wd doesn’t work.

My car has both port injection and Direct Injection. The port injection is used in lower power situations, cruising, and provides a cleaning to the back of the intake valves. The direct injection is for higher power situations like full throttle acceleration.

I think you can get test kits from an auto parts store that can tell you if there are combustion gases in your coolant. I would do that before tearing into the engine.

That coolant flowing from the rad into the catch tank is being displaced by air. That air is coming from somewhere, most likely combustion gases. But you said you had the coolant tested for combustion gases, right? A leakdown test could confirm this.

If you machine the head, compression goes up, not down. The machine shop will be able to tell you if the head is trash or not. Hopefully they can recondition it for you.

A broken valve seat that fell into the cylinder could do this too. It would also explain the no compression in that cylinder. I thought he had a bent con rod, but understand now it was a push rod. I’d try to remove the intake valve and inspect the seat to see if it’s even there.

Wow, that’s some serious damage! Possible that the bottom part of a valve guide broke off and fell in? I’m really curious as to what got in there.

You should be ok cutting 1/4” off. Generally the cheapie bifold doors have 1-1/2” top and bottom stiles. You could confirm by pulling out the spring loaded pegs and checking the depth of the hole with a piece of wire with a short 90 bend at the end.

I’ve had good luck with the Interstate replacement for my gc2410. Original battery lasted about 7 years and was the sealed lead calcium type. I couldn’t find that kind anywhere and ended up ordering the Interstate from the local dealer. It was the highest CCA one of any available locally.

When looking at the instrument panel parts diagram, the only parts available related to the tach drive are that housing, a plastic gear, and a couple of washers. Or the whole cluster. The gear is just a regular gear, nothing fancy, so it’s probably not that.

Most I ever ran mine was 40 minutes. It was -6F. When I went to start it, the temperature was at normal running temp. It fired right up with a 15 second hold on the glow plugs.

Yeah, it’s not the cable. I unhooked it and it turns smoothly. I even put tension on it, with the engine running, and the cable is silent. Supposedly, the updated part has thinner oil in the viscous coupler that doesn’t cause the squealing when cold.

My 17 f250 is holding up well. I just had the frame coated with NHOU a few months ago. The welds and holes in the frame were starting to rust. The body is great. I think it was wise of ford to invest in aluminum body manufacturing. Now, if they would just hot dip the whole frame.

On my old well I did. It’s was shallow and lots of acidity. The new well is 280’ and not nearly as acidic. The problems occur when the fitting is in the middle of the run. The plumbing supply house by me carries both plastic and metal fittings. Plastic is much cheaper too.

High iron, acidic water here in PA. When I first ran the pex up to my bathroom, I used a couple brass pex elbows in the middle of the run. 15 years later, they were oozing and very corroded. Replaced them with plastic. I would not use shark bites either, as they are mostly brass.

On my GC2410, the PTO can be rotated, but the engagement lever has to be in the off position, not the rearmost lock position. Or the lever for the 540/1000 is in neutral. Either way it will spin.

These were homeowner types, maybe 16kw. Mine is a generac 17kw lp gas. It’s been great over the last 10 or so years. Got 240 or so hours on it. Most of the generators around here are generac.

The Cummins generators I’ve seen have Briggs engines in them. They have had problems. One the transfer switch went bad and only switched the one leg of the power coming in. Then the battery charger went bad twice. The other Cummins had control board issues.

Is it possible that the A/C pressure switch is on the ground side of the clutch circuit? Would be easy to verify with a wiring diagram. If refrigerant was low, switch would break ground, causing compressor to stop, and you would still have 12v at the clutch power wire. Just a theory…
